So about a year and a half ago I made a thread in Irunguns forum and inquired about the possibility of having a replacement barrel instead of the 104mm one that comes on the LH9 and the response wasn't very positive. After waiting for a long time to hear somewhat of a positive news on these pistols and not hearing anything, I decided to contact Lion Heart Industries personally and ask them whether or not they had any plans for entering the Canadian market and the response I received was very positive:

Good morning,

We actually have our eyes set on the Canadian market right now and it’s one of our plans. We’re working on a longer barrel, and I also believe our serial numbers have to be set up a certain way, which we’re going over. Although it’s only a couple steps to get our pistols to Canada’s standards, it’s going to take us the better part of the year as we have other steps we need to check off first before we can start working on shipments to Canada.

Respectfully,

David

So if you have been interested in the LH9 like me, and somehow missed the other thread in the said sponsor's forum, I hope you find this to be somewhat hopeful news.

Very cool. Thanks for reaching out. I just hope to God they go with a threaded, and not an extended. Plus, that could kill to birds with one stone for them. That's what my response would be.

+1. Threaded barrels is the only way extended pistol barrels should be coming to the Canadian market IMO. That way it doesn't look ridiculous and killing the coolness factor.

At 104mm it only needs a tiny bit--like 1.1mm--to make it legal, similar to when H&K added just a smidge to the VP9's barrel to make it Canadian-legal in the SFP9. You can hardly see the difference there between the two. Adding a longer threaded barrel is unnecessary in this case.

What about them should make us excited?

Not that I'm against new products; au contraire... Just wondering what is particularly innovative about them?

Thx

As far as innovation or features that would set it apart from the slew of other 9mm that are available out there, I would have to say the double action plus feature is very interesting. Other than that, they are very well built and accurate service pistols (or more accurately copies of a service pistol). There are a few video reviews out on the YouTube if you would like to see it in action:

I'm loving this increase in new products becoming available to us!!

Now down with mag caps!!!! *cough* ... excuse me, I do that from time to time... I think it's called gun control tourettes!

Ah a good old necro,

I recently asked them about the extended barrel. Looks like they are going to make it threaded as it allows them to sell to Americans to let them use suppressors, the barrel length should be 121mm

They are still in the testing phase right now, you can check them out on facebook but if you don't have it, this is a quote from their facebook

Threaded barrels are being processed right now, we should get them back from coatings in a month.

I will reiterate what I wrote 14 months ago in this thread:

Well Lionheart probably isn't going to make a Canadian legal extended barrels just for us. With a threaded barrels they get to hit 2 markets. Americans wanting to surpress their hand guns, and us that require it.

The reason why it took so long is that it has something with how you field strip it if the barrels is longer than their originally designed 104mm it gets hung up on something so that's why they needed to take like a year to redesign it.

In any case I'll be happy with a different pistol design hitting our market, soon (TM)

No question about them hitting two markets at once, but there have been manufacturers (S&W, Ruger, H&K and Kriss, for example) that have made Canadian-specific barrels. Granted the first three are way larger than Lionheart, though.

No more threaded barrels. They have no use in Canadian market and no one is buying them for the cool factor. Ever wonder why threaded versions of some guns are always in stock?
