Anyone have any leads on walnut far beyond exhibition? I want to outdo this piece on this next job, I'll be stocking my Hagn mini project. I decided beauty is weight worth carrying. Contacted all the regular blank suppliers I've dealt with, eBay too etc, but nothing is grabbing me as other worldly yet. Anyone have a line on one in a million black or Bastogne? It can be thin, an instrument blank would work as the stock will be very slender.

Good luck topping that...
Could you maybe call a company like Chapuis or vearny carron and see if they'd sell a black. I'm sure they have some sweet stuff set aside

Looking for the great white whale :) Will be pressed to outdo the specimen above.

Looking for Dark or dark and light? Can you show us a hint based on a stock you have seen?

I will poke around and let you know if I find anything spectacular.

Scroll through Coles premium blanks... I am pretty sure that you can get the buttstock and forearm off one pre-shaped shotgun buttstock blanks, but they do have raw blanks also.

What's the reason for the wood stock over the synthetic on the 375? Adding extra weight or just personal preference?

A lot of good leads here, still looking for that one piece that'll make me walk into a tree while I carry the gun captivated by it. Something much simpler but stocking the titanium Mauser in a dark and stormy piece, not the same level but has its charms.

If you get one, a burl would be awesome ...
