S&w sd9ve

They SD9VE certainly is inexpensive. But then the new M&P2.0 is inexpensive too.

I think they are a good deal at $400 or less. I don't have one but have shot a couple of them. I found them to be plenty accurate & reliable. Sure the trigger isn't wonderful but its not that bad either. I've said it before and i'll say it again, Its the poor man's Glock 19.

I bought one a year ago not a huge fan of pistols but out 600 rounds down the pipe zero problems and accurate for what I need. I enjoy bringing it out the odd time and with bass pros sale will be bring it out more

You really should consider a M&P9 2.0... For a few bucks more, a much better pistol according to me (design, trigger, grip, options, etc.).

I just picked one up, and i really like it. Not a single issue with it at all, and it fits my hand perfectly. I dont really mind the trigger at all, but i dont have a lot to compare it to. Its now my only handgun, and only the second one ive owned. For what it's worth.

Like others have said it is a good enough gun for what you pay.
If you do get one invest in the apex spring kit for the trigger. It doesn't make it perfect just a little lighter pull and smoother.
That being said it goes bang every time I press the trigger and I can hit the duelling tree at 15 yards no problem.

Horrible trigger, I'd suggest finding someone or somewhere you can actually shoot one before you commit to buying one. I thought about buying one, looks nice and feels good in my hand but the trigger was the deal breaker after I shot it.

I have an SD40VE, picked it up on the EE for 310 with the Apex spring kit installed. Great pistol for the price. Look up any reviews and you will hear about the trigger, it is what it is and you will be able to live with it I'm sure. I would say pick one up and don't look back, if you can pick one up used, even better. I certainly have no regrets.

Good solid gun for the price, but it's not as smooth as the MP.

Maybe wait a bit before you buy one. There's some new color options coming soon. That might bring some sale promo's.

I considered one, I liked the ergonomics of it...then I started pricing the apex trigger and spring kits.Sometimes there is a little tweeking to these kits....so 399 for gun 100 plus for kits...For another 100 you get a 2.0 with the case.........Its a real nice gun better quality and smooth shooter out of the box....to each to his own!

I've owned one, with an Apex on it even. For the money it is fine, poor man's Glock...no offense intended. If just for plinking and $400ish is all you can budget then go for it, but if you plan on shooting competitively then I wouldn't. For a few bucks more there is the Walther PPX range kit that you can run out to IDPA out of the box. My $.02.

I have one. I love it! The trigger is a bit stiff but I have ordered an Apex spring kit (not the trigger just the spring) which cuts the trigger pull to about 5.5 pounds. Its a very reliable and well built pistol. I like it almost as much as my M&P 45. I'm toying with the idea of grabbing a sd40ve too. I say go for it! If you don't like the weight of the trigger pull a simple apex spring kit will remedy that. All for under $400. Can't go wrong!!

I hate to offend anyone that has one but I simply do not understand why anyone would want this pistol. Worst trigger I have ever experienced in my life! The quality is just ok and the grip is short (ok for some) For the combined difference in price of an upgraded apex trigger you can pick up an m&p9 range kit used or possibly new for close to the same price. I realize people are on a budget but save up and get something better.
I think smith and Wesson designed this pistol as a truly basic budget cc pistol for Americans and even in that case I would rather trust many other guns with my life.
Try and get to the range with someone who has a few pistols you can try and go from there.
Cheers :)

I have one.
I like the size, the finish of materials, the grip is comfy.

The trigger is a bit stiff. If you have tried SIG P226 or Jericho, or CZ trigger, you will not like the SD9VE.

But it's is compact and I like the looks of it.

At below 400$ is expected some aspects to be sacrificed, but all I see not perfect on it is the trigger. But again, comparing with triggers of pistols many times over this price :)
