X95 Non restricted whos getting one ?

Anybody have trouble with their barrel lock pivot? Mine won't budge. I'm depressing the blocking plate on the opposite side, but cant get it to move at all. Trying to complete a left hand conversion and can't get the barrel off to swap the cocking bar!

It is very tight the first time, even if you are using the correct tool. I tried using a makeshift tool and it got warped, to give you an idea of how tight it is. Did you take the rest of the rifle apart, including the cocking bar, first? You can damage other parts of your rifle if you haven't.

I didn't take the cocking bar out first, there is a plate on the barrel that the cocking bar butts into. The plate is not in the manual, how do you get around that? I figured it was a Canadian barrel thing?

If it's anything like the Tavor, trying to remove the barrel before taking out the cocking bar will destroy the cocking bar. You have to take off the pistol grip and railed fore end and the cocking bar will come right out. Inspect it for damage, you might need a new one.

For some reason the video embed doesn't want to work today

Thanks for the suggestion. The manual says to take the cocking bar out first - and I have the rail and the grip off as well... There is a nut blocking the removal of the cocking bar so it wont come out first. The nut is attached to the barrel. Said nut is not in the operator manual, or the technical manual! Canadian barrel issue?

I think I should force the barrel lock.

DEFINITELY NOT, you WILL break the cocking bar, which is why it says the bar must come out first.

That block looks exactly like whats on page 105 and 107 in the manual. Try getting it as far forward as you can, then rotate it out.

Edit: Sory I was going by the PDF's page counter which includes things like the table of contents. You want pages 87 to 89

Just fiddle with it is all I can say. Getting it out of the Tavor is a bit awkward too. Remember that the handle is a lever, so try getting it all the way forward (instead of all the way back like in the photo) and maybe you have enough room to squeeze it up and out

Which retailer is stocking the X95?

Can't decide if I should get an x95 or a Tavor Gen 2.5 done up with Midwest industries accessories.

If you do go Tar-21, skip the MI, get the RPM Tool handguard.

In my opinion the x95 is better for mounting accessories and ease of use if you are familiar with the AR style mag release, and has a significantly better factory trigger.

The Tar-21 looks better/ more iconic, and is very intuitive to learn with the mag release location that feels natural.

With the RPM handguard the above advantage is not as much an issue, lots of M-lok ir Keymod mounting options.

I thought GT has explained before that the x95 trigger is the same as the Gen 2.5 Tavor, just a different grip angle.
And with the available of lightning bow and trigger packs, that is not much of an issue either.
