I guess I could have said intended use is for grouse hunting, probably running .22 short. I dont need it to shoot quarter sized groups at 100y. But If a old cooey will hold groups at 40y and a Savage MK2 will not, then I will start looking for a good cooey. Or vise-a-versa.
And dont worry about ammo, I have no problem buying a bunch of boxes of hi end stuff to see what it likes.

AgreedBest cheap and super accurate .22; Norinco JW15A $219.00 if you can still find one. Clip design allows shorts to be used (although I have not tried), but it out-shoots Marlins, Savages and Cooeys routinely.

my cz 452s can run lr and shorts no problen
