** Your NEA102 build **

Since when is putting an optic on and hanging some useless junk on the rail considered a build? Like buying a set of rims for your truck and calling it a custom.
The only thing people should be worried about these days is getting their hands on one and running a thousand rounds through it to see if it's reliable and half decently accurate, after that maybe look into accessories and other crap.
I'm in no rush to pick one up, will wait till the guys that just have to have one pay to be the first then realize it's just another non restricted 308. It's funny watching this forum, every new announcement of a non restricted coming to market gets everyone so wound up thinking it's the new holy grail of firearms then the first thing people want is to change it then the hype dies and it's just another rifle that people say is overpriced or want it in another caliber or that it needs this or that changed then it's off to the next greatest thing that's coming.

Sounds like the voice of experience talking....

I think you missed the title and purpose of the thread. Troll elsewhere

There's precious little info on these rifles out there. The NEA 25 was deemed restricted, NEA 102 non restricted so there must be some differences between the two. Who knows what will fit and work? Pretending that you'll be able to dress it up in a certain way is entertaining but is running on some pretty broad assumptions. As if dressing it up will change its nature.

This is a very early thread. So far we're talking scopes, bipods and basics. It is a place to start. Once again, if you don't have anything positive to add besides stating the obvious, move along. Good day sir.

waiting on specifications to be posted, that will dictate if I purchase or not.

If no light profile barrel will be available, I will be swapping out the barrel to as light as possible for hunting, would like to get as close to the 7lb bare weight with mag as possible.

The MH is about a pound too heavy for my liking

Right, I guess what I was trying to say is that I was under the impression that they work in both the AR15 and AR10 platform rifles.

ahh ok got ya

And yeah Brian I agree.

$1700 isnt too much to spend on a little toy to play around with. If it doesn't work out sell it and move on no big deal.

If it's reliable and upgradable then it might be an interesting option for the PRS gas gun series.

I'd probably switch to a 6 or 6.5 Creedmoor barrel in the 20-22" range. So my build would likely look a lot like this:

Rainier Arms UltraMatch 6.5 Creedmoor Rifle+2" Barrel @22"
Superlative Arms Adjustable Gas Block Bleed Off .936 -Clamp on
JP GEN 2 AR-10 Silent Captured Spring Builder with Alternative Spring Pack

Depending on the nature of the hand guard I might keep it and build it up to support the MPA barricade stops if that's feasible. If not, and if MLOK barricade stops are forthcoming then any lighter, stiffer and better compatible MLOK guard.

For optics, I'd go for my existing Bushnell LHRS 3-12 mounted on a Geissele Super Precision 30MM, 20MOA.

I just can't wait to see what kind of headspace measurments people will get out of this rifle.
If within the 308 range, i am strongly considering the purchase of this rifle.
I'd like to think of it, as a rugged, battle rifle caliber, do it all gun.
With that in mind, i'd just install a 3.5x acog, with 308 drop reticule.
I'd play with my reloads, to find a load that is accurate, and makes good use of drop reticule in standard conditions out to 400M.
As long as it's 1.5moa ish, good enough for 3 gun targets, and coyotes!
