The issue is that it is not just me shooting it. In fact, I will be the one shooting it the least. I'm part of a university shooting club, and this thing is to replace the Tokarevs we were using. We have a fair number of females that come shooting, and a smaller grip would help them a bit.
It seems obvious... get/keep a Tokarev. P762 for those with big hands and Tok for small hands.

Seeing as there are no non restricted carbines in 7.62x25 and, since we have to take our pistols to the range anyway I went looking for an alternative. I did a search of this thread and didn't find the following. ............Thoughts?

Extra magazines? Or have any of you ingenious peoples out there found an alternative magazine source that works for these?
If given up hoping for any sort of long gun in this caliber.

moot point. AR15 is restricted by name. what you need is ruger mini 30-esque rifle that takes p762 mags or tt33/zastava M57 mags

Why not one that uses Tokarev mags? There's plenty of them around.

its an easy avenue to get a larger production of mags made while getting more interest in them and having another firearm that uses them. tt33 mags have been around since 1933 and no one has done it yet.

An M1 Carbine replica that takes tokarev magazines and is 7.62x25 would be the sickest thing ever.

Tokarev is an amazing penetrator. I wish there where non-restricted semi auto carbines in this caliber too but maybe in a better more modern design.
