Chrome polished 870 wingmaster restoration project

That looks great! I think a synthetic in black stocks would look a bit sharper.
I don't know what I was expecting when I watched the video.. But I laughed out load seeing that shiny chrome on something I'm used to seeing blued...
Sharp looking shotgun.

I like it. I like the lighter coloured wood to go with the chrome. My only problem with the gun is that you can only shoot it on overcast days. One sunny day and kablowie everyone near you is blind. :D

Dont get me wrong it looks like you did a good job but what was wrong with rebluing instead?

I used to be part of a facebook gun group that I had to leave because some guy kept sanding and polishing guns and then trying to sell them for 2x the price they would go in good condition. I couldnt handle seeing that so I just left the group. Now when I see a shiney gun It reminds me of that guy.

Chroming guns is for the pleasure to look at a shinning firearm.
It's a show off gun or a wall hangner for people who likes pretty things. I guess it's not for everyone's taste...

This sort of thing is not for me at all, but I'd rather see a good 870 done up like this vs sitting uncared for and rusting away.

It's only polished at this stage. But my friend will chrome plate it. And yes, you have to desassemble every parts before plating process.

Gross. I'm not sure why you'd post this... get a finish on that poor old gal.

...and no, you don't need to remove the ejector for plating but you should.

Chrome plating will be to to thick. I have refinished 1000+ 870,s in thr last 25 years with evey thing you can think of from pain to park to nickle.
Thr barrle hood with not fit into the recover if u plate it. Also dame with thr mag tube threads and thr forend metal threads.
If u want shinny go electroless nickle. As u can control the thinknees easier
