Filed down my feed ramps on my T97 to help better the rounds load. I didnt do a left and right feed ramp, but filed the whole area... now im having issues with feeding and extracting. seems to be the last 3 rounds... any helpers?

Thx!

What mags are you running? Are there any that feed without issues? Does the factory mag have issues? If the factory mag isn't running, as the consensus seems to be its the one that feeds most reliably, then the feed ramps may have been filed down too much. I had issues with mine feeding from generic AR steel mags (also driving bullets into the casing) and was planning on modding the ramp but when I switched to good quality mags (elander, pmag) which seem to keep the follower raised higher than the generics which allowed the bullet to nosedive into the ramp. I did have to file my magwell to get lar and the pmags to fit but the better mags have improved the issue (seems to be fixed). Again, if you're having issues with the factory mag my bet would be the ramps are too low.

That goes against all written advice. When rounds misfeed, they go left or right, so filing the entire area doesn't solve the issue. You can try to redo it by lightly filing individual ramps but unfortunately, depending on how much material you removed, it might not be correctable.

And it's the last three rounds in what? A 5 round mag? a 10 round LAR? Maybe it's the magazine?

It will be the over all fed ramp .
The bolt should just clear it to function properly.
I had to narrow and raise the ramp in mine to get it to work.
Stripped barrel locking lugs off(two pins) BUILD UP FILE AND POLISH.
I have also modified the mag catch to not allow the magazine to over insert.
WELD UP RAMP ON LEADING EDGE MAKE IT SQUARE.
This is the only way i could get mine to function properly it took a lot of time and work.
I HATE this rifle because of it but it does work now.

Sad to say bud, you probably f****d it.

I've replied to a couple of these posts about grinding or filing in m4 style ramps. Basically two small channels on each side of the feed ramp to guide the bullet tip. And to do a little bit then test function.

Sounds like you wont have any metal left to do that, so basically your rifle is garbage. Unless you build up the ramp again via welding.

Yup. Unless you can manage a way to add material to the ramp. I don't blame you as it is the garbage design of this rifle.

Deactivate it and sell it to a non-pal holder if its messed up for good lol

So you went haywire and filed the whole ramp? Lol.

All you need to do is look at the ramp and see where the copper witness marks on each side of the ramp are. This is where the rounds contact from each side of the magazine (all double stacked rifle mags do this). Take a round file and lightly file the ramp on each witness mark. Take a little off, and fire the rifle for function. As the other guys said your rifle is most likely a brick.

This reminds me of the old days when guys made there own ramps in AR's and ruined so many uppers...
You guys know that bare aluminum that loses its anodized coating are basically scrap right? Brass will easily wear it even more...

If it is really really f****d. Depends on how much you will sell parts. I don't mind to have backup main spring, bolt, trigger, piston assembly and the plastic stock uppers parts. =)

T97 (especially the gen2) is not as crappy as someone bad mouthing it. 200 rounds first day not a single failure. Even an US AR took me a few gas block adjustment to get it right on first 200 rds. You probably have never shot the gen2 or you have tried a really bad one. Believe me, I was like you guys and had my doubt at first but I actually changed my mind 180 degrees after I have actually shot one. And now I own one.

I dont know what happened... I went to work on my FTF FTE issues.. I tested all three types of mags I have (E-Lander, USGI and LAR) and there are no issues feeding or extracting!!

I took the back end off and actioned the rifle under control (no spring) and no issues... I then put it all together and actioned the rifle under tension so the spring would push it into battery everytime.. no issues!

Not sure when ill go to the range, but I hope its soon to confirm (fingers crossed) that its working with live rounds!!

Has anyone has any difference dry testing (with dummies) and with live rounds?

Same can be said for the Gen 1. When I first got mine, it worked fine for thousands of rounds. Then it began destroying every other round (pushing the bullet back into casing). I sent it back to the site sponsor I purchased it from for repair, and got it back a couple of months later. Put about 4000 rounds through it without issue since.

200 rounds isn't really much to claim perfection on IMO. Not saying you will have issues down the road. I hope you don't, and others have had no issues with their rifles, just some food for thought.
