Who is buying a Type81?

Hey, the RCMP did it to Wolverine with the "Spartan's"..... exactly the same rifle they had imported for years with new wood on it, deemed prohibited as the new wood required a new FRT entry and the RCMP are running the country now.
Guess what's different about the T81 lab sample and the shipment?
Lol

Except the "cz858 Spartan" was not exempt in the OIC by name. Exact same converted auto guns according to the RCMP. But exemptions work on named models, not function. The wood wasn't the issue, the brand was.

Different scenarios.

There are no future batches of 858's..

The wolverine has said this many times over the years and they have found thousands hidden in the corner of containers. There will be more Cz 858s to satuate the market eventually. With the t81 as a direct competitor, the 858 glory days are surely over.

any idea how many t81 will be found in containers after the first 1k batch?

Like stated unless TI decides to change the name of the imported T81s OR the receiver differentiates from the FRT sample in a way that allows ease to full auto conversion we should be OK, fingers crossed.

No but they are the same VZ58/CZ858 that the RCMP inspected and approved over a decade ago, which were imported by the 10's of thousands over that span. There is nothing guaranteed with firearm classification at this time, RCMP run that show and they have no rules nor a GOV that will hold them accountable.

And yet they just approved the nea 102 as non restricted. Go figure.

2005s they inspected are still fine. The later ones they checked much later aren't and were changed.

I thought this topic was about "Who is buying a Type 81" ? You guys have sure spun this topic right out, it has nothing to do with the 858, 102, why it is deemed NR, how some think it can be converted etc... lol.

I sure do want one of these

Curious as to why CDN articles by Calibermag and Tvpresspass on the Type 81 refer to it as a "Norinco Type 81" when TI has it listed being made by Poly Technologies?

The original import way back was based on the story that they were completed receivers but never assembled therefore could not be c/a. The RCMP was fine with this for a decade then reversed course. The majority of these guns are probably this configuration.
