The problem I'm noticing with these is that they look front heavy.
Heavy is one thing. I own and shoot a walnut stocked Norc M14 all day long. I'm not a big guy either. 90% of shooting is about your physical stance/hold of your rifle.
The thing with the 102 is that it appears (just like my old XCR) to be extremely front heavy/heavy on the barrel and railed front end. It made shooting the XCR a pain in the ass unless you were shooting it from the bench (who shoots from the bench with a semi auto black rifle?) I'm seeing reports about it being front heavy now as I expected.
The XCR designs biggest flaw was being very front heavy. It set the whole balance of the rifle off. It was cumbersome to handle and do drills with if I was shooting it in any practical position ie kneeling, sitting or standing.
Was really hoping to see a light standard "A2 style" handguard assy and a light profile barrel on it. Why flute the barrel? Just make it all around thinner and shave off the excess weight in the one spot it really matters ie at the very front end of the gun?
Will keep holding my breath awaiting confirmation that the barrel can be swapped out before I look at it seriously. Looks promising other than that so far. Accuracy is more than enough for this guy. reliability seems to be decent from reports so far.
Someone confirm if you can put an A2 rear stock on her please.
