Uh the ar vs sks is like a sport bike vs a tractor trailer.
Completely different animals for different purposes. I'd take an ar-15 time and time again vs a clunky sks.
100% agree with you. I've not shot my SKS in years. I think the OP has a leaning towards Combloc guns. To each their own.
A beautiful woman with hairy legs can be remedied very quickly. An ugly woman with shaved legs is still ugly. And braiding the armpits won't help either.

well I hope the comparison to hairy women work for AR15, that's where I was leaning towards![]()
P.S. So far I am not impressed... I am taking my SKS to the woods if SHTF, not this one: overall construction is kind of like a rifle for a kid, my son has a toy rifle it feels better built than M+P sport 2
It's the furniture, especially the hand guard, that makes it feel cheap. Swap it out for some better quality stuff. The A2 grip was the first thing to go.

Maybe if you got a higher end ar you'd experience something better. Can't expect much from 650$... My charging handle and trigger cost more than that.
I'd trust my life to my Colt Canada. It's real quailty keeps going without cleaning for thousands of rounds. Sits dirty for 6 months, little bit of g96 and it's good for another 500 rounds. Not a single malfunction in 3k+ rounds, other than the case failure from the free norinco ammo I got from a guy at the range (rifle kept going but I had to stop and confirm it wasn't a squib). The rifle has been outsanding in every match I've shot it in.
... looks to me like a beautiful woman with hairy legs... hopefully will shave them at the range

yup, changing the grip, which is totally crazy
next I have to find longer length of pull stock
so far I found this:
increases length of pull from 10in to 12 "
Strike Industries Viper MOD-1 Stock
Can you explain how "feel" effects performance? The answer is that it does not, so I wouldn't judge the rifle on your opinion of feel. If the rifle performs poorly then you may have something to complain about, however as mentioned above you get what you pay for.
You do not need a longer length of pull, you need to learn to shoot a rifle properly as in squared off to the target. A shooting buddy of mine is 6'4" and shoots his AR with the stock collapsed...
AR15 is not fragile rifle. Go to BattleField shooting range Las Vegas and see their select fire M4s.nothing to do with shooting rifle correctly-it has something to do with individual mechanics/ ergonomics
the feel of fragile rifle has a lot to do, if you happened to drop your rifle.. on a concrete floor
I don't think current config will survive it very well-please don't tell me that you have to care about your rifle, don't drop and other obvious things

There is not a single upper or lower broken after hundrad of thousands rounds fired full auto down range every month. But they have your favourite AKs with broken receivers and trunnions after same kind of torture.
