I doubt they are 100% compatible.

While I can't prove they are exact bcos I cant do a side by side comparison to my Chinese rpk butt plate but they do look the same.

Why would it not be compatible when they are making the wood stock to fit?

Because the Type 81 and RPK are 2 different firearms, and I doubt the stocks are interchangeable because the Type 81 is a new design independant of the RPK?
 
That's what I thought. Apparently HirvGotti has better reading skills and more patience than I do.

Haha yes it's broken but it has some good, brief history on the rifle in there that I enjoyed. For example it explained in 1979 they decided they needed something to overcome Type 56's downfalls (lacking accuracy). In 1981 the Type 81 design was made and finalized, in 1983 it was put into mass production. Then it carries on to say how and where it was utilized and best of all claims it did perform very accurately and reliably, so lets hope ours do also. :) .....the pictures helped as well :p
