The other option is, How difficult or whats involved to Install a front Sight of Sorts on the Front of the Barrel? some kind of Peep sight for the Rear!?!

Pour some nail polish remover into that area and if you can let it pool. Hopefully if your lucky it will seep down a bit into threads. The NP remover will eat the blue loctite. Then take a drill bit about half the size of the screw and drill into the screw. The heat from the drilling will (if it blue loctite like you said) should produce some heat to assist breaking down the loctite. Once you start getting resistance in your drilling reverse your drill hopefully it will grab the screw and twist it out.

If not go and get a broken screw extractor bit from crappy tire.

Looks like somebody already tried to get it out with a hammer and pipe wrench.
Do you have a gunsmith in your area? Even a good mechanic with a gentile touch would be able to do it.

Use the services of a competent gunsmith.

Don't try it yourself - 99% of the time you will make it worse and a gunsmith will then have a harder job...

Yup, what guntech said is a better idea.
The cost associated with paying someone to do it will be a added value to you for buying it.
Get it done right and get her out there rocking the wsm round.
btw, there are no CT (Crappy Tire) DownUnder ;)
Tight Screws err I mean Groups,
Rob

The good news is a scope base will cover the Bubba marks and as mentioned a decent gunsmith should be able to get it out. The only one I ever removed involved a #60 drill bit and more courage than brains.

Yeah good replies and good points!

so darn tempting to purchase as the Reloading gear and factory ammo is around $2k with the rifle included, if it were all new, but a total of $500 can see this bein mine.

I have had great results using left hand drill bits (very carefully). Quite often the heat generated by the bit will soften the loctite and the broken screw will spin out with the bit.

I have removed broken bolts in many things stainless and plain steel, but not on a rifle, I would pay a gunsmith or machinist, if you are stubborn, similar to previous instructions, be patient use nail polish remover and have a drill press with a stop for depth, you can centre punch the bolt and start with a small drill and move up in size without touching the outer threads the heat created by drilling will normally soften the loctite and a small screw extractor should work, I prefer the reverse threaded style rather than the four sided style. Sometimes it will come out on the drill bit when you reverse it.

Alright well to follow up on this, So far ive decided to leave it where it is.. in Queensland, another state at the top of Aus....
simply Factoring in the Shipping/Freight, Ammo restrictions with the Freight meaning I would need a Mate to middle man it for me for now, then the possibility that I cant get the Screw out, Next step is a Gunsmith bill vary from $100-200 perhaps more depending on what I wanted next..... To redrill and Tap threads etc is more $$$

so then in the End the little Abolt ($950 RRP) Could end up the cost of a Second hand ready to hunt Rifle without even firing a Shot...........

My Fathers workshop doesn't have Taps and Dies for such small Bolts which I was banking of for a bit of DIY..

So, stuff it, ill sit on the fence for a while on this rifle. appreciate the replys
