Sks Canadian tire debacle and a memo from a few years back

Haha, "If you discover any Russian SKS carbines capable of full automatic fire, immediately quarantine the firearm, " Like if its not in quarantine the full auto might be contagious.

Seems like Canadian Tire stopped selling SKS again for some reason and they aren't divulging why

I believe they moved to make all their firearms stock uniform across all stores and would stop selling milsurps. This has been in the works for about a year now.

Nope. If this was the case it would be a slow liquidation process, or a quick sale. Not suddenly pulling everything off the shelves, and only one particular rifle.

Liability. Too many slack-jaws not cleaning them out before they fire them.

Are you aware of any anecdotal info or cases reported in the newspapers? I can imagine that some might be too lazy to do a thorough cleaning before trying out their new rifle, but out of the hundred of thousands of SKS rifles sold, I wonder how many were found defective or prone to slam fire, as reported in the bulletin posted by the OP?

I've never heard any reports in my area. As for the bulletin from 3 years ago I don't see any relation. Not a big deal. It's their company and they can do what they want. Buying guns and ammo from CT is embarrassing anyways. Walmart just takes your money and boots you out the door.

Which sucks since I prefer to support Canadian businesses but if they are going to be retarded you cant do anything but shrug your shoulders

I was told today by a Canadian Tire owner this is currently temporary and all SKS's are in storage. Mrs Billes had put considerable pressure on the CEO to pull them from the shelves. The current "reasoning" is it is a used or refurb product and does not meet CT standards for sales.

Again this was told, may or may not be true in anyway but all franchise owners are hopeful because my store had over 50 in stock and they are on the hook for them until further notice.

30 in pembroke are now locked up. Unofficially Friday. Officially today. Can’t be scanned for purchase.

Saw a bunch at the Langley BC location a week ago. After reading everything on here went in today. No SKS's. Still have the $259 price tag for them still up. Some guy was stocking ammo. Which I was surprised to see because I never see anyone at the langley location ready to help.

I asked the guy what happened with the sks's ?
He said they were locked up in the back. Waiting to be bought by the ramp to be inspected and resold.
He mentioned something about someone online had parts available to convert them to full auto...

Only thing I noticed new was a CZ 527 in 7.62x39 for $1018...
They haven't had those before
