cr5 comments are justifiable opinions. don't get bent out of shape because you don't like his point of view. its just internet banter after all.

From CanAm, the company who apparently did the leg work on getting the FRT.

"When I pressed M+M on their very high pricing, I was told they had an agreement with their US investors to use export pricing to subsidize US pricing. Retail would be $2000-$2400 once the dust settled , based on exchange at time of import/approval. So be it, it is their boat. So I announced a rough price at the time, with a very low margin for us, and a dealer price that meant we likely had to only sell customer direct."

So according to CanAm, we are getting screwed to keep US prices lower.

This gotta be the dumbest statement made by a manufacture executive, a page taken from Trump shoot from the hip.

No consumers wants to read they are being gouged.

Certainly a dumb statment for someone gunning to have exclusive distribution rights in Canada. Hence the radio silence from CanAmmo since this whole #### storm started. I think we are down to two m10x threads that arn't locked and I think its only a matter of time with this one.

My experience with CanAm has been very negative. I think this just makes me feel even better that I do not shop there anymore.

Until he starts questioning people's morals. Then it gets personal. I didn't start it, and am not "bent out of shape", but thanks for your concern.

Meh. If I was canam and m+m screwed me over with wanstalls I'd have said the same thing. All's fair in love and war. And business.
But now please continue....this is great.

Can-ammo are straight shooters. Wanstals too. There's more going on here than we'll ever know. I'd even go out on a limb and say m+m are probably a respectable company. In my experience, it doesn't take society long to weed out questionable business practices. That has yet to be proven.

Look at you go, CR5. It's almost as if you are desperate to defend your position....whatever it is, hidden in all of your "holier than thou" bafflegab. You can question my morals all you like. I owe you nothing, including an explanation of my reasons for thinking and deciding as I do. At the end of the day, WTF do morals have to do with buying a new rifle anyways?!? LOL! It is hardly a matter of life and death whether I am customer #1 or one million. Seriously dude, your compass has lost its magnetic North with all of these recent posts of yours. Look at yourself, reduced to throwing out insults when people dont agree with your narrow perspective. That is pretty pathetic.

I used to view your opinions about black guns with a degree of respect, but I'm afraid you have put that squarely to rest with your bizarre campaign against M+M Industries and their rifle. Wow, just wow.

For me morals come into firearms purchases, if the reports are accurate and M+M truly said they were jacking up the price to Canada to subsidize low US sales as the post read and it wasn't someones interpretation and rewrite then no matter what price they come up with I'll show my morals the same way I show them by not spending money at The Shooting Edge in Calgary after the owners part in the Swiss Arms temporary move to the prohibited list. I had spent thousands of dollars there and had a great experience with them buying my Desert Tech SRS in 338L prior to that but after pulling an underhanded move like that in an attempt to put his competition out of business they will never see another dime from me no matter how good the sale is.
I have no campaign against M+M, I just don't like what I've heard so far about their business strategy and also them sitting back refusing to give a price like they said they would by the time told us they would. I don't care if you buy one or not, it makes no difference to me, if you feel like supporting a company like that it's your choice but don't look down on others who choose not to purchase from a company that does that. Both sides of the coin should have equal chance to voice their opinion without either getting mad at the other.
If you choose to ignore my opinion on black rifles because you don't like what I say about this rifle that's your choice but one thing I'll tell you is that no matter what I say about a rifle it will be my honest opinion based on all information I have available. I didn't have the most positive review of the first Modern Hunter I shot but I contacted Rick at ATRS and gave him honest feedback on areas I felt needed improvement, he has corrected most of the issues I had and I bought a Modern Hunter this summer. This shows that when a person is objective and honest positive things can happen so don't get mad at people who say things you don't like.

I will apologize for the comment questioning your morals, it wasn't meant as an attack or as an insult, more a suggestion to look inwards after some of your comments suggesting that you don't care how much they raise the price as long as you get yours for the pre-sale price. To me this is a very selfish attitude and it bothers me when people don't have consideration for the community they are claiming to be a part of.

Until we see a true advertised retail price I'm not passing judgement on any of the companies involved with this rifle. Misunderstandings and miscommunication are commonplace in our electronic world, before a person has a chance to clarify their statement and sometimes their poor choice of words the internet has taken it and run it up the pole.
I'm still holding out a little hope that they come back with the strategy to sell hundreds of rifles for a reasonable profit instead of selling 10 rifles at huge markup.

We can hope.. But I do'nt think that is going to happen,, My quess a small factory with limited production capabilities

I accept your apology, but am genuinely curious how you have arrived at the notion that I don't care how much M+M raises the price so long as I receive my pre-sale rifle? Where in my comments regarding the M10X have I stated such? Or even insinuated such a selfish motivation? To me, you have a very judgemental approach to people, assigning motivations to their actions that simply don't exist. It bothers me when people don't demonstrate due regard for others within the community they are claiming to be a part of.

I suggest we take this to PM if there is anything more to be said. Otherwise, it is just grist for the CGN mill.

LOTS of groundless wild-ass guesses as to how much they will cost when a price is finally set.
I may as well toss out my WAG too..

From my previous post in another (now locked) thread.

Lots of talk here about the "NR Tax"

I have often thought that if I was to bring a new black gun to the Can. market, I would include a "First kid on the block" surcharge.
There always seems to be a few guys that absolutely HAVE to be first to get a new item.
And they are willing to pay extra, and let everyone else know it.
The so-called Price Pimps...

So, I would be delighted to take their (extra) money.
Then a week later, standard lower price would kick in.
Followed by another price drop as production gears up.

Win-Win for everyone!
The PP get to feel good by paying more that everyone else.
The wise consumer gets a bit of a price break, subsidized by the PP folks.
The scalpers get truly fooked, as the price drops, rather than increases later on.

And I get a MASSIVE amount of free publicity as the CGN collective goes bat-chit crazy arguing over this...

I'm counting on M+M setting the regular price at Can$1399.
