I picked up a couple of pounds of Titegroup today - $54.99 per pound before taxes!

Is that typical of prices lately? I've been shooting from my hoard for the past few years so I haven't bought any powders for a while.

That's pretty expensive, you can find it cheaper online at some of the sponsors. It pays to shop around. As much as I enjoy supporting my LGS they need to support me too!

I wouldn’t even pay that for rifle powder. $30 max per pound for pistol and $40 max per pound for rifle are the numbers I’ve set for myself.
Budget shooter supply or Xreload. Keep in mind that shipping 4 lbs is only a couple of bucks more than shipping one pound.

$55 a pound is pretty steep. I've only been reloading for about 4 years and I've seen a huge increase, but am still buying powder at less than $40/lb unless I'm desperate.

Henry, why are your rifle powders priced right out? I'd love to order from you but $54 for H4831sc....$51 for H4350. Did you get burned by a distributor or what.

Yeah, I thought so.

Oddly, the powder I bought came from Higginson Powders, repackaged in flat cardboard packages. The seller was our local hardware store. I think I'll be asking for a refund.

I think it's our duty to research the net to find the lowest powder prices and buy from them. I think it's the only way we will be able to get those high priced places to sell at reasonible levels. What i've found over the years is that Higg's has always had good prices and thanks to them we can still buy powder for under $40. JMO

All depends on where you live. If you are in eastern canada that price is not unusual
Cheers
