Who s hunting with the classics this season

Sighted in an early production Model 1920 Savage in .250 on Friday. It is equipped with a side mounted Noske scope. Old enough setup that the elevation is in the scope, windage in the base. Bold picket post reticle. Fast to pick up. Guessing that the optics date to the '30s.
They had a 1-14" twist I'm thinking.....The original FWT mt rifle...Harold

Mine was black but it's wood now. I had already owned an 06 in wood so I switched the stocks and sold the 06. Hopefully, it will make thunder tomorrow morning.

Good luck, Earl... see if you can top last year.

We are heading to the island to bowhunt in the morning.

Contemplating hunting deer with this classic on Thursday:

Late 50's Sako L57 actioned North America Arms Grizzly in .308
Been happy with my groupings at 100 meters with the peep.

Can I count the marlin 1895 to be a 'classic' gun?

Peeps and aperture sights are great.
I have old/weak eyes but can still sight well through an aperture sight.
Have a x/s sighting system as well as a 2-7x28mm scope on my 1895gs.

I guess a marlin 1895 has been around long enough to be considered a legacy gun.
The fact that marlin 1895s in various configurations are still being made attests to their 'greatness'.

I had Dad's Sako L61R from 1978 out last weekend. Probably take it out again this weekend since I'm traveling all week and the rifle and ammunition are both ready to go.

I use single shot a Browning B78 in 30.06 caliber - heavy round barrel. It was manufactured in 1973 and was the 53rd rifle produced in that model. I've owned it for 5 years and tipped over a handful of deer and moose with it. I recently made some adjustments to the fore-end so that it doesn't make contact with the barrel which improved accuracy quite a bit. I'm very pleased with this rifle.

Doesn't get more classic for me than a sporter no4 Longbranch, Canadiana that continues to put meat in the freezer.

I am VERY tempted to carry my Marlin 336 in 35 Rem this coming weekend for deer...

BUT... The BCL102 in 308 Win may get the call...

Is the Weatherby a classic design? I submit that cartridges from the 40s, a stock design that is little changed from
before the "modern classic" was even dreamed of, and hanging the way the world viewed performance make
It qualify.
