1911 chinese turkey

What do you think?

Did the others peak your interest? If not, I'd say you have the answer to your own question.

I have both. And s SAM and a Rock Island, that fall between the Norc and the Colt in price.

The Norc is best if you want to learn the 1911. A great learning platform to taker apart, to a little tweaking, replace a few parts and have a great shooter. My Norcs got better sights, better grips and a trigger job. Great shooters.

The Colt is the best made, but the most expensive. Shoots great.

The SAM and Rock Island are better finished out of the box, but don't shoot better than my Norcs.

Colt Competition model is worth the money. The gun is a real sleeper, considering how much bog standard 1991 and Government models go for these days

Armscor/RIA > SAM hands down no question. We don't currently have a distributor for them in Canada so far as I know, but there is old stock available or grey market importers

Have never had a Turkish 1911. Norcs shoot, and for the price are fine. Can be a tinkers special, however. Mind you I've only had the GI models, which were older production

SAM from Wolverine Supplies...
Very nicely made guns, reasonable price.

I found a used Para Ordnance Expert (single stack) on the EE a while ago and it shoots great and has never let me down. I think I paid $500 or $550 . I consider the jump in fit and finish over the Chinese guns to be worth the marginal difference in price.

I have an STI spartan which is pretty much a rock island with some nicer bits. It has absolutely perfect slide to frame fit, shoots and handles like a gun worth 2-3x it's price. If all the RIA stuff is even close, they are a deal.

Norincos are the best value, accurate, and reliable; their mags are a bit crappy, but after market mags for 1911s are everywhere, and reasonably priced.

I have the full sized one in Chrome with the adjustable rear sight. I had to shim the movable part of the front sight to take the side wiggle out of it, and the little set screw that locks the elevation screw, keeps coming loose (needs locktite), and the mag release extension also kept coming unscrewed, but some locktite, and a tightening with a pliers fixed that too. Factory grips are fine, and it is a pleasure to shoot.

There are a few places that have these on sale for around $370. You can't go wrong.

I picked up a Norc in a store recently, not that bad overall and had a great price point, but I’m a little picky.
For me right out of box it would need several upgrades, like a trigger and sights, possibly others.
By the time I factored in all expenses required to provide me something I would be satisfied with the price point was amazingly close to quality brand name 1911’s (within reason...).
So I never found value in it and it was easy to walk away from the deal.
The SAM’s/RIA’s seem to close the gap and appear to offer more value (for what they are).

You can't go wrong with a Nork, but you will shoot it for a while and then just want the Colt. You will pay $350 or so for the Nork and then well over $1K for the Colt afterwards. After all said and done, you will have spent about $2K or so for two pistols and in the end, the Nork will sit in your safe while your Colt snobbery kicks in. Save yourself $350 and buy a Colt.

That's just too much common sense right there lol.

Here i was expecting to find a chinese turkey...

As far as 1911s go, i will always have either an STI or an SV in the safe, i have tried many other brands and do not make the cut.
Accuracy, trigger guard undercuts, fit and finish, are all important in an 1911 to me.
