Solid Copper Projectiles

If it's possible I would like to see .311 in weigh range for SVT-40 rifle.
Modern bullets are lead cored and copper jacketed so compairng to sureplus stee/steel bullets they are
shorter in lenght because they are maid with heavier metals.
I think, making them solid copper will bring them close to sureplus weigh and lenght specs.

I tried reading all the comments but there is 9 pages of them.

I was under the impression that the RIP bullet was illegal in Canada because it is considered a "flechette" bullets.

No idea if that’s correct or not. I wouldn’t be looking at making a bullet that breaks apart in the air anyway.

another vote for 9.3 again :)

mostly just posting to talk to the RIP round.

Yes that is a copper bullet, but all copper bullets are not RIP rounds :)

solid copper rounds are often used on dangerous game. They penetrate well. No, not everyone takes African Safaris, but many of us are around large bears of several colours, large bull moose, large bull elk in rutt etc.

that and people just like to have stuff that's different or that they just like :)

Maybe i'm alone on this one. What about 00 or 000 buck shot? so long as the price isn't insane I would definitely buy some 7/8 or 1 ounce 12 or 20 gauge slugs. Finding slugs for reloading is difficult, finding ones that aren't lead is impossible

Why would you not use lead, the most efficient material for either bullets or shot, for shooting game to eat, that we could ever hope to use?
In the 3 or 400 years that man has been loading a lead ball, of some shape, behind a handful of black powder, and used it to shoot meat animals and birds of every description, is there any proof that even one person has been damaged by the content--lead-- of the bullet?
