The 30-30 club, are you in?

My grandfather bought this one new. Hardly used it. Passed it along to my dad, who passed it to me. I believe I dated it somewhere near the war.

It is one of my favourite guns, but it gets expensive to shoot.

Conveniently my grandfather also passed alone a reloading press!

Have a couple Win 94 30-30s and this Uberti

Unfortunately havent been able to shoot anything with it.

I wonder why

Just added a Marlin XLR to the collection :) I think it will go nice with my only other 30-30, a Savage 99 takedown.

For some reason I have been lusting after a single shot 30-30, either a Ruger #1 or Winchester 1895, I would really like one of those. Whichever crosses my path first will most likely come home with me.

First center fire rifle I bought was a model 94 Win 30-30. Back in the mid 1970's. I was young and just starting big game hunting, I worked hard and saved my money to purchase that rifle.

There was just something about the lever action platform that just grabbed me and hasn't let go to this day.

I still have and use that rifle every hunting season, it has put quite a bit of meat on the table for my family over the years.

I'm not sure what to think about that chrome 94 Hoyt? What's the story with that one?

No story... Win made 500 of them for the 1999 Shot Show... I have a 94AE Trapper .44 Mag in Brushed Chrome on the way too... how can you go wrong with a weather resistant, synthetic stocked 94???

Well ok then, always a pleasure chatting with you!

Lol...... cracks me up.....

On the one hand, I have my friend Freddy..... on the other, my good friend Hoyt that has sold me much craved unobtanium at fair prices.....

I see a rifle Hoyt posts in a cartridge I despise, in a configuration and cartridge I despise more.....

It just reinforces that beauty and function is truly at the eye of the beholder.....

As much as you dislike the /30 case, I love it... and have used it in .22 Cal, 6mm, 7mm, .30 Cal, .35 Cal and .375 Cal. The Waters is my favourite of the bunch with 120's and was my late season prop head freezer filler for many years. The brushed chrome rifles are not a "purist" thing, they are a functional thing, and they tick off a number of boxes in AE configuration that the originals (which I also love) can't.

As always... "beauty is (indeed) in the eye of the beholder."

;) Me as well. My only 'claim to the club' at the moment, is an old custom Winchester High Wall, in .219 Donaldson Wasp. :d:d:d

Traded a top eject Model 94 away. Will get Dad's 1930s beater when he is done. I would really like an angle eject bigger bore version. Maybe when my '06 goes to my BIL in the spring. Got 458WM and 9.3x62 dies on the bench though....
