Looking for a cheap alternative case lube. Would prefer a spray on type. What are you guys using? Do you make your own?

Thanks

Matt

You need so little, that anything is still good value. I like 12:1 lanolin to 95 isoprop alchohol. Hey as high an alcohol as possible, because the other % is water

I use what redruns uses. Goes a looooong way!

X2 on highest % of alcohol you can get. Here in NS...the pharmacist keeps it behind the counter (apparently some of the street thugs use it for mixing and making) so they limit it to so much per person /per sale ! Lanolin is at the health / food stores.

Believe it or not, I spray WD40 on a rag and grab a handful of brass and rub them into the rag, works well and by the time I'm done, the lube is virtually gone.

Castor oil is inexpensive and works very well. I use it by putting a small amount in a large freezer bag and spreading it around the inside. I then put the brass in the bag and shake it around. The advantage of this over a spray-on mixture (e.g. lanolin/alcohol) is that you don't have to wait for solvent to evaporate.

I have also done the same thing with some Permatex Engine Assembly Lube that I happened to have on hand because I bought it to lubricate some ratchets.

Never did wait for my lanolin/ alky mix to evaporate. With 1/4, shake well, mist and lube mist bottle required not spray.

I've used Lee case lube in the squeeze tube for years. Use little, doesn't matter if it dries before sizing. No mess to clean up. I apply it to each cartridge with my fingers. After a while, it is pretty easy.
