Spend as much time as possible on the Homestead with Family and friends (I did 70 days in 2017...), open some over-grown fields/plant food plots, build two elevated and enclosed deer blinds, and an outbuilding. And in the process try and get healthier/ loose 15 pounds.
Have been out hunting Elk twice, (one of which was a guided hunt), and have only seen one cow elk from several hundred yards away. I hope that I will have an opportunity to see and collect a legal bull, (3 point or larger), in 2018.
2018
1) find a new job(part time) to supplement retirement income
2) get a truck ( I should never of sold my old one)
3) get back into hunting after a two year break
4) get my kids off the payroll as they finish off their education
5) finish fixing up the house
6) may sound selfish but focusing a bit more on making myself happy rather than running around like a headless chicken dealing with everyone else's Bull crap. My tolerance for taking care of other people's poor life decisions is gone.
I had a shyte 2017 that involved a job loss, Lyme disease and less hunting than I have done in over 20 years.....
2018 is shaping up to be much better...... new job I love, big plans for hunt camp and already got a head start on doing more hunting and shooting with the kids......
If I can keep this trend going, and add a smattering of “special hunts” to the mix I will be very happy......
I had a good 2017 that will be hard to top. I'm happy my wife let's me go hunting almost as much as I want. I've never shot a bull elk and would really like to try this year. I also bought a new spotting scope and a phone skope over the holidays so I'm looking forward to taking pics of some of the good mule deer we have around here.
Expand on how 2017 went, it was a great year. Looking forward to another productive year on the homestead and in the bush. Oh and shoot more, that's high on the priority list.
-Try to work on my patience a bit
-Be more understanding to other
-Enjoy my free time more
-Ad some more milsurp to the collection
And SHOOT SHOOT SHOOT as much as i can
Elephant and Hippo in the Caprivi Strip on a community use hunt. Not allowed to bring anything out, everything goes to the tribe for their annual get together. Second maybe a gator in Florida
Get back to fighting weight , spend more time with Family, friends and good firearms, book and go on an exotic trip.... toss up between Argentina for Stag or a European driven hunt
