Last count I've owned 43 #1's , 7 #3's
Purchased my first in 1977 a 1B in 22-250.
Should have kept 1H in .405 Winchester .
Should have purchased a 7x57 AH 24" barrel no sights that had been rechambered to 7x57 improved.
Other odd balls a 30.06 1B barreled on a # 3 action and wood. There were 3 of these documented SHIPPED from the factory. This was likely a parts gun someone made up. A custom barreled # 3 in 257 Roberts.

I've had a bunch of #1's...and, of course, regret selling each one...but the single one I have kept and will keep is in .300H&H. Unfortunately, this is a rimless round, and the falling-block practically cries out for a rimmed cartridge.
The one that I would most like to own has, as far as I know, never been produced: a 9.3x74r with a 26-inch barrel. I had one of the 22-inchers, and it was lovely, but that stubby little tube just bothered me. The #1 is something you own as much for its lovely lines and classic appeal as for its performance. I wouldn't be caught dead with one that had the rounded heavy forearm; the Alex Henry forearm is a must...
...and don't even suggest stainless/laminate!

The best balanced/ handling #1 I have owned was a 25.06 with a 24" A contour barrel no sights and the slim Alex Henry for end. With a 2.5x8 Leupold it was just over 8 lbs but honestly felt like just over 7.
My favorite for shooting if I think logically is my 204. Practically no recoil and a laser in terms of precision.
But if I were to answer with some emotions, my 300wm sense its my first no 1 I have had and the one I've used the most.
