Anyone Else Getting Disgusted With Browning??

Not so fast. Aside from what they might perceive as political disadvantages of continuing to be based in California, Weatherby just took a pile of cash from the Wyoming state government to relocate there.

According to US News & World Report (1-23-18):

"The announcement Tuesday also revealed the name of the company that had gone through a process of obtaining financial assistance from the state of Wyoming over the last few months for its move without the company's name (Weatherby) being publicly identified.
Last week, the Wyoming State Loan and Investment Board approved a $12.5 million grant to a Sheridan economic development organization to construct a building to house an unnamed company's operations."

Incentives, grants, forgivable loans, you name it, gun makers are getting public money.

Different flavors for different people. It's not like they stopped producing the medallion line of xbolt if you want something fancy.

Isn't there a huge tariff coming to the US for offshore manufacturing? Howa/Vanguard are made in Japan so they will be getting hit unless they move manufacturing to the US.
I doubt they sell enough MkV to stay afloat.

Browning had it right Last year when they offered the "X-Bolt Medallion Safari Grade",... http://www.browning.com/products/firearms/rifles/x-bolt/discontinued/x-bolt-medallion-safari-grade.html,.... very nice rifle,.. although I don't care for the gold trimming on the barrel, the gold trim might look good new but once the rifle got some use and it started to come off it wouldn't look so nice,.. plus it was only offered in 24" barrel in all chamberings.

I wonder if the recoil pad actually firs the stock on those? All the white gold and other higher priced wood stocked brownings the recoil pad is bigger then the stock. The plastic models the pad fits perfect.

I'd say a white gold medallion or a shot show special maple medallion is on par with that weatherby.

I have a show shot special maple tbolt in .17hmr and the fit and finish is awesome,

Just ordered a shot show special Maple Medallion xbolt in 6.5 creedmoor and I expect the same. I'll see how it compares to my last years show show special Winchester super grade maple.

I have an A-Bolt II Medallion with the BOSS on it, probably my favorite rifle. As for the White Gold Medallion, it's a beautiful rifle, but I don't care for the super bright shiny finish for a hunting rifle,.. I would love to see Browning stick a blued barrel and metal in the White Gold stock.

Maybe it's time I bought one of these in 308win,... short action, a 22" bbl, controlled round feed, everything is metal, beautiful satin finish wood,... what's not to love,..lol

Isn't that just the normal xbolt medallion? They do make them non stainless. Unless there are more differences between the two that I'm aware of.
