bushnell LRHS discontinued ...

That is surprising. I really like my 3-12x44 LRHS the clarity is fantastic and it really gathers light well.

Bushnell is (according to the warranty tech I spoke with) phasing out the 3500/4500 elite line. Supposedly the Elite Tactical line is staying. No idea what the 3500/4500 is being replaced with as of yet.

I'm a huge fan for the LRHS 3-12! Awesome features and great glass. I own 2 i love em so much lol! I even really like the donut reticle on low power. Makes it easy to see where 2mils is for windage. Why you guys saying they're discontinued? I still see em on the Bushnell site

How about the LRTSi??? I hope they change the reticles in both and bring it back with another name.

According to Doug, at Camera Land NY, Bushnell told him they will continue making the LRTS. The replacement for the LRHS is due out sometime in June. Hopefully Bushnell doesn't screwup a great thing. The LRHS was almost perfect, maybe a bit heavy, but that seems to be the price paid for durability in a long range scope.

Thats good, hopefully they change the reticle slightly, not a fan of the ring, also the hash marks are wonky. Does not draw your eye to the center at all.

I like 'the donut of death'. Guess it all depends on your intended uses. There is always the LRTS for guys who prefer a plain G2.

I find the hash marks near the center of the reticle are strange and distracting. Compared to the Nightforce SHV for example.

Reticle pretences always make for interesting conversation. I really like Bushnell's G2/3 rets- we use the .5/1.0 Milhash marks all the time holding for wind- and have no use for any of NF's reticles. Well, maybe could get use to the MIL-C. IMO, NF lags far behind in reticle design, companies like Vortex and Kahles are setting the standard. It comes down to a person's shooting style, what they are use to, and just plain old personal preference a lot of the time, I guess. Good to have choices.

For sure. I can use my Vortex BDC marks out to 500, but I am learning to dial. All I need the hashmarks to do is measure. For me the Nightforce reticle is uncluttered and draws your eyes to the center. The lack of horizontal "upper half" hashmarks is nice to see your target better, especially for hunting. The reticle would not stop me from buying that Bushnell however, and is on my short list. They should just center up the vertical hash marks.

I have secured a healthy supply of the E4518HI LRHS 4.5-18x44 G2-illuminated at a great price. What's even better is, there is something very special coming soon. Please PM if you want details and want to secure a scope.

Cheers,

Thanks for the update, Omer! Sounds like they aren't messing with the LRHS recipe too much.

(I will not call Omer. I am not curious about 'the something very special'... I will not call Omer... :p )
