What do you use to transport your rifle?

Pelican 1750 is what I use

Prophetriver does tax free and free shipping quite often so that would put you close to your budget.

What is everyone using for a drag bag? I was looking at a Eberlestock but they are rather expensive not sure if its worth the price

Cabela's Armor Extreme cases are great, had them for a few years and put them though their paces.
They are accepted by airline and have stood up to our friends at Air Canada multiple time, had others that wouldn't last a single flight. Been beat and bounce around in the back of a pickup and quad. Even got knocked off the dock once.

And when you can pick them up on sale for 119.99 like they are right now you cant beat them.

Is the case deep enough to fit a rifle with a big scope? Is the foam inside the kind you can pluck to fit the rifle in?

Nope, no pluck foam. The double case came with 3 layers of foam, the middle one is solid. Not difficult at all to trace and cut out the shape of your rifle, and ends up looking better than the pluck foam, if you don't completely suck.

I use a voodoo tactical drag bag. Very well made and I believe made in Canada. Heavy duty materials holds to rifles and all associated range gear. My only dislike are the straps inside. They could be placed better for my particular rifles but works well. I regularly haul around 2 rifles and gear weighing around 50lbs. Never any damage or worries.

I transport high end production rifles and my Insite Arms custom rifle in soft cases.
They are well protected in my trunk on the way to my range(s).
Bought a PGW Coyote with full kit in a Storm case.
I couldn't sell it (the case) fast enough.
Too much of a hassle getting in and out of my vehicle.

Canadian Tire Huntshield case. They are made by Plano. They have two different sizes. Wait for them to go on sale.

I have one of these and its great for my r700, I can even fit another rifle in it if need be.

I have the large CDN tire huntshield double case.
While it seems sturdy and all, a bit of the heavy side and bulky, considering my rifle goes from basement, to truck rear seat, to bench on range.

I am looking at sniper drag bags.
Even with luck, if i completely remove foam from hunstshield, the drag bag will fit in it, for those times where the added protection is needed.

I have been putting this purchase off for a while, since for the price of an eberlystock drag bag (450$+) i can purchase more tempting reload/rifle stuff.
But now have seen the cadex drag bag, ''seems'' nicely made and is under 200$.

Anyone can attest to the cadex drag bag?
Not stepping on OPs toes, this info may well serve him too.

Edit : OP, when on sale, can be had for just a bit more than 100$, and is very well made for the price.
Definately sturdy. Not pelican quality but good enough for most of us.

Exactly, what's wrong with your vehicle, some people just want to look the part.

Well, I'd say most people don't want multiple firearms clanging and banging around into each other and everything else in the cab. Unless you happen to be the type to go to the range with a single, or on special occasions, two firearms, I suspect you'll invest in a case of some sort.

My Cadex bag will fit my CDX30 (probably 15-20lbs with glass and LRA) plus ammo, mags, tools, etc. and more often than not, I bring a second rifle too. All told the bag is easy 40+ pounds. After numerous range trips, the bag still looks new.

Edit they have info on their website, 51'' inside dimensions.
