Best rifle you ever bought?

Maybe not my best, but it is definitely a favorite...Sako .22LR Factory Prototype, circa 1979

Nice rifle... shame about the knobby, tacticool scope.

Scopes come and go...I think I have three for this Sako .22....That scope in the photo was sold years ago. It was fun for awhile though...allowed me to make hits at crazy distances for a .22

The Leupold VX-1 2-7x28mm Fine Duplex Rimfire scope would look perfect on that rifle.

My favourite is whatever I’m chasing down at the time. The having is great but the finding is greatest.

As far as out of the box performance and value, all of my Tikkas and CZ’s have impressed. My older Browning Safaris are wonderful guns and my Magnum Research MLR has been fantastically reliable, accurate and just plain cool.

Only attached to a few’of em though, most could be dealt given the right circumstances.

...and what are you planning to get? Surely you have thoughts about it no? :)

I'm seriously considering an ATRS upper and lower set to build a 6.5 grendel for a coyote rifle. I'm trying to learn more about the ar platform to decide what to do. Last year I bought a Troy PAR in .223 which has worked very well, but I've always thought a semi would be fun for coyotes.

My focus in rifles has been/is decent quality hunting rifles. Also, something that must show a respectable ability 'punching paper'. Adding to that, I have indulged in one small three gun 'collection' of Schultz & Larsen rifles, to copy the three cartridges shown on the red cover of the old Norma reloading manual. These are, 7x61 S&H, the 308 NM and the 358 NM, the joint cooperative effort results between Schultz & Larsen and Norma. :d My'best' is the last acquired and hard to find Schultz & Larsen model 68DL in 358 Norma Magnum.

Besides helping dad pay for a Winchester Model 94 as a kid with my snow shoveling money, I think the best rifle I ever bought was my Winchester XPR bolt action, it's light enough, and the 180 grains I send down the pipe she has good recoil, the rifle is well made, and rugged, I mean I fell off the skidoo 3 times into it, and the guy with me rolled into me 3 times, a good laugh misjudging the snow banks lol, got me moose and she's dead accurate out to 259 yards, any more than 450 and the bullets dropped 4 inches lol, I like it, it's a 308 Winchester btw

Mine would be a Rem. 700 Bdl. in 270. It was my first left handed rifle and has been with me for a long time. It is like an old friend, very familiar and always around when l need it, and never lets me down.

Just posted this pic in another thread, but this rifle is hands down my favorite:

1946 Winchester Model 70 30-06 with W.M. Malcom 8x USMC replica scope.

70's sako L61R Finnbear Deluxe Blonde french walnut with fiddle back from one end to the other and on both side in 25-06, still shoots like a dream and looks mighty pretty....FS
