375 Ruger vs 378 weatherby is it worth the extra $$$

Huh? Aren't we all at least multi-millionaires here?

Now about that Mark V action design. Need to go review screw theory to see just how strong it is.

Not sure about the recoil aspect , as my old mark V 460 kicked less than my ruger number 1 460 wby even with the wby brake removed

For me anyway, the Ruger No.1 ergonomics tend to accentuate felt recoil.

Many people say this, but usually with the heavy cartridges. Personally, I don't find much difference comparing felt recoil between an M77 and a No.1 in the same cartridge and load. I have done this many times with .375 H&H and .458 WM... in all cases with the factory recoil pads... simple physics would dictate that with a more rigid action, more of the recoil will be tramsmitted to the shooter, but the degree of difference must be very small and probably indiscernible compared to other factors, such as firearm weight. An aftermarket pad would likely help, but for me, with both the M77 and No.1, the recoil goes straight back into my shoulder, as it should. Fit is a very individual thing, and people will experience recoil differently even with the same rifle and load... as I said above, Weatherby's fit me much like No.1's fit you.

I used to shot a super accurate #1 that my grandfather had given me he had it rechambered to 340 Wby from 338 Win I never had an issue with the recoil.

I'm missing this recoil sensitive stuff or is the 340 Wby not classed as a large fast caliber?

I think my problem with them is I prefer a 13.5'' LOP. Not sure what the factory rugers measure, but they seemed fairly long for me. My dad has a 350 rem that Grit built, and it fits me like a glove. Maybe that's why he agrees with me!

They are generally 13.5"...
