Hi there, what do we have access to with those criteria?

- 9mm
- Original capacity of 10 rounds (mag not pinned or sticking out)
- Closest to 4.2 inches minimum length barrel (no extended barrel)

Closest one in 9mm I found would be a 1911 type gun.

Any ideas?

Where are you getting this "102mm" measurement?

The lowest limit for restricted is 106mm inclusive (4.2").

Most compact variants of major brands don't do a "canadian specific" 106mm barrel, with the newest Glock G19 the exception. Everything else usually has a third party barrel that sticks out more than 106mm, and has threading.

a quick search on your "P7M10" yields a barrel length of 105mm, hence prohib in canada, unless you can have it rebarreled to something 106mm+ before taking possession of it.

Just have someone shoot it a bunch before they sell it to you. Carbon build up should give you that extra mm! LOL

Thanks, edited post. Still wondering what stock gun is the closest thing.

I had a STI Spartan 1911 in 9mm. It's nice pistol, quite accurate and reliable.
The only reason I let it go was I was changing direction with my small collection.
They cost around 750-800.00

HK P7's are actually deemed restricted according to the FRT. I'm not clear on the details but I think it has to do with how the barrels are measured. HK specs say they are 105mm....but by Canadian measurement standards they are 107.

Did some research and while it doesn't qualifies as a stock gun, I found the following quite interesting.

Chopping down a Full size model (4.25 barrel) grip to accept factory Compact magazines (10 rounds).

I didn't know it was possible, saw same thing with Glock 19 to Glock 26.

There are 2 FRTs for the HK P7M10. Original manufacturers spec is prohibited as 105mm bbl(19674-1) but the Non Commercial Customization with the 106mm is Restricted(19674-2).

the 3-4 HK P7,PSP, M13 have all been 106mm. most of these where just presumed to be 4 inch when all this started, then we started to actually measure
A Jericho 941 with the long slide, a canik TP9SF , should be lots more.

Interesting...HK specs from my owners manual show 105mm for all models. My registration says 107mm. Differing measurement techniques/standards?

Although, owner's manual seems pretty generic, maybe it just doesn't mention other types.

You are correct. Mine was a 12(6) with a registered 105mm barrel originally. I had it re-verified after some knowledgeable Nutterz on here told me how to do it. Sent pics and info to the RCMP lab and they accepted the pics. The gun was re-classified as a restricted. Barrel length changed to 107mm and I sold the gun soon after.

I was going to recommend the P7M8 or M13 actually for the OP. The Boberg is another option except for the mag cap part.

M&P FS is 4.25" just 5/100th over your 4.2" limit. There are a few 1911 Commanders chambered in 9MM.

I am sure there are others.

Take Care
