Good war/milsurp movies and tv shows.

Dunkirk (the movie) was great but the mini series on PBS was just as good.
The Great Escape ( best movie EVER)
Zulu ( wonderful scenes with Martini's)
Waterloo (excellent scenes with muskets and cannon)

Well I have Netflix for a month! I need ideas on good war movies/ shows that have a good dose of milsurps. Already watched the siege of jadotville. Really liked it. Need more ideas!

Watched the last days in Viet Nam the other day, not really hardware oriented, but gives you the background to the American rout. Guess the North Vietnamese rejoiced when Nixon resigned, cause he'd a brought Hell on Earth to them.

Grizz

One of my favorite World War Two movies is called "When Trumpets Fade". It takes place in Europe just before the Battle of the Bulge, not a high budget film but done well and quite realistic.

There is a bunch of other Russian TV series on Youtube. While a little hokey they are enjoyable and better than what is being produced in the west. Try searching for "Night Swallows" (and no it is not that type of movie.......

I'm gonna guess it's about women PO2 pilots? Def will look it up.

I watched the old British/American joint documentary called "Tunisia" the other night. Lots of hardware. On Netflix.

Can't believe no one has posted Kelly's Heroes yet. Best on screen scene of getting out of a minefield. A great star studded fun film too.
I also echo Saving Private Ryan, The Wild Geese, The Dogs of War, and Zulu.
