So I’ve never really been big on hunting shows.
I hate the random shots of stock animals or big game that the hunter is no where near. The over sensationalism, and the near perfect animal killed every time.
I’ve just finished the last season of Meat Eater and loved the candidness and the way it seemed to follow the hunt as it progressed (good or bad) as opposed to just highlighting the best parts.

So anyone else have any bings worthy recommendations similar to Meat Eater?

The Flush and episodes of other programs that feature upland bird hunting. I still watch a few episodes Cody Robbins programs, but I avoid any of the long range shooting shows, or any with certain hosts that I can't stand.

Meateater fan here as well. But some episodes of solo hunter are pretty good and Canada in the rough still is worth a watch in my books, most of the rest I could do without.

Big Rinella fan.
Some good stuff on YouTube. Not so much shows but short films, Badlands film shows, the guys on HUSH make some cool videos.

Meateater is head and shoulders above anything else on TV. I do watch Tracks Across Africa and Dark and Dangerous to get my Africa fix.

I cancelled Wild TV 3 months after it originally aired. I watch a lot of nature shows on You Tube and NetFlix, once in a while, hunting on You Tube.

Trijicon's The Hunt is not bad but its kinda over produced. It's on netflix.

i tried it, and god know i wanted to like it but it’s like it was put together by a guy with adhd, the cuts are short and quick, the constant shaky camera and in and out zoom, the nice camera shots of the game and landscape are so short it’s just terrible
you want to know how bad the guy is, check the episode where he’s hogs hunting and takes a shot with his dog in front of the gun!

Born & Raised Outdoors & Hushn on youtube. I quit watching wild tv now that I can watch these. Elk 101 is another good one, mostly podcasts.

Sorry OP, there’s nothing that even remotely comes close to the Meat Eater series.

But y’know, there’s nothing particularly remarkable about meateater...

It’s just good because it’s real. It addresses the whole hunt, from planning to plate. Successes and mistakes. The formula could be emulated easily enough. I don’t know why other shows haven’t followed suit.

I had it for a bit longer than that, but they way they flogged some products (remember King Optics?) convinced me they shouldn't be getting any of my dollars
