Even though the stainless laminate pistol grip is out of production (damnit!) I'm seriously considering one of these ugly sticks over a 1895. The BLR just feels so right, even though it looks kinda wrong.

I already have a 336 30-30 that I'm never parting with. I have a 308 that I like but don't need to keep.

Let's hear it guys. What would you choose to make this lightweight ugly duckling live up to its potential?

325 WSM its got all the power you may need and the short action makes it fast and light

450 Marlin same as above, mine has a composite camouflage composite stock. I bought it used the original owner said it came out of the custom shop

7mmmag if you gon't nmind the long action

I chose a takedown for stowability, and a short action to minimize size and weight. Settled on the 358 with its wide range of bullet weights to maximize versatility and wallop.

Not an issue with the scope on the barrel. Possible issue with the scope on the receiver because receiver alignment with the barrel would have to be exactly the same every time it's taken down and reassembled.

Just having the scope on the barrel does not guarantee that ths POI will remain the same... there are many other tensions that combine to maintain accuracy... fortunately the BLR is no bench rifle, so you would probably never notice out to 200 yards as your baseline is kinda "floaty..." even if you aren't.
