Mods, if this is in the wrong forum please move it as appropriate. Thanks

Well Stag Arms has a new Non-restricted receiver set available.

https://www.armseast.ca/stag_arms_stag_10/stag_10_cdn_upper/lower_combo/

Just ordered a complete set. Upper, lower, bcg and charging handle.

And the best part is other than the takedown pins and detents there are NO other proprietary parts required. It's all started DPMS pattern stuff including barrel nut threading. Takes DPMS high (.210) handguards so plenty of options are available.

These should be an easy platform to build on.

Now the big question... What to build outta it?

I want to use it for coyotes & deer so it's a toss up between boring old .243 Win (better for yotes and still suitable for deer) or 6.5 Creedmoor (better for deer and still suitable for yotes)

Decisions, decisions....

Suggestions?

What are you guys going to build outta yours?

Are they listed on Arms east or Stag Arms site

Arms East has them listed on their site as of today. They give you the option to order it with or without a bcg or charging handle

Well that sucks , I recently ordered the BCL Stripped set.

So besides getting into the BCL verses Stag ,
What’s the difference between the two.

What’s the difference between the two.

The Stag receiver set uses parts that are more commonly available due to being DPMS pattern opposed to the BCL using a combination of both DPMS and Armalite pattern components.

This "should" be a more straight forward build with a lot less trial and error to see what parts work with what parts like is happening with the BCL

At least that's my take on the situation

QC on Stag will likely never cause heartburn.

I'm actually kind of pissed at Arms East for holding this so close.
However, with the determination of the AR-10 design pre-dating the AR-15 I suppose it was only a matter of time that the flood gates get thrown open for getting them designated N.R.

hmmmm ..... what caliber options will fit on that set ?
I've been wanting to get into one of these type of NR rifles in the .308+ (338 federal ideally) but have been skipping right past all the other offerings. Either way to expensive or brought to market without proper R&D on the finished version. But I like the options with this stag unit and the fact it accept dpms parts.
receiver set price tag is attractive too

I would wait a few days/weeks to see what is offered in completed guns. AR-10s are generally cheaper to buy complete than they are to build - at least right now.

It appears so, the offerings available now are trimmed out with prs stock, lantac muzzle device, 2 stage trigger, and MLok foreend for a reasonable price.

i know right? such a good price might have to buy the wife one too. Matching set for our 11 year anniversary is a present she can appreciate haha

Christ, what the hell, in. I was going to get a second BCL 102 receiver set, but I think I'll try one of these instead.
