New CXS 12ga adjustable, comb down all the way. At 25yds with full choke it's 95%-5% With the mod it might be 90-10
Gun shot fair on skeet but horrible on trap. Am wondering if a higher front bead might lower the pattern but where would I find one? Switched from a Crossover Target 12ga and am very disappointed in this new gun. Open for suggestions before I try buying the Crossover back.

Given that you shouldn't even notice the bead when shooting, a higher bead should make no difference. With the gun mounted, how much rib do you see? Just because the comb is adjustable, doesn't mean it is low enough for you, I have two guns with adjustable combs, and both needed work to lower the combs further.

I feel as if I can bury the whole rib just seeing the bead on the receiver and the gun shoots hi. I think am a fan of higher ribs like the Crossover has. I'll give it one more try and if I don't do any better with it then it's going to be history.

You need to raise the rib to bring your POA up to where you want it. To test this, cut a strip of wood or plastic and tape it on the rib then pattern the gun. You will see your POA lower as you raise the rib. Once you determine how much you need to raise the rib to make the gun shoot where you want you can buy a rib from these guys. http://addarib.com
You can call them and they will walk you through the process and make sure you order what you need. I had the same problem with a Remington 3200 and added a homemade 3/4" high aluminum rib with great success. Not all that uncommon.

lve often wondered about those shooters with really high ribs on the gun ?

There is no one way to shoot a shotgun.

1.33 of this vid is proof and one of the best shooters in the world is doing it also in same vid.

well, if you want to break targets you keep your head on the stock and look at the BIRD, not the bead.

Once your head is glued to the stock you shouldn't even see the bead...as stubblejumper said

Doing what? What did I miss?

I must have missed it too. All I saw were a bunch of world class shooters with their head on the stock and lots of broken targets. Jimmy does make a point though. All too often I see new clay shooters being told to follow a rigid methodology to successfully break targets. While there are things that you must do, in many cases, if it's stupid and it works it's not stupid. Some of the best shooters in the world do things the "experts" disagree with.

barrels are chalked white so they can reference in the dark. They very much know where the beads and barrels are.

I chose not to buy a Crossover or (CX) because of the 60/40 POI instead I purchased the newer cxs that has a 50/50 POI. To be honest I have not patterned it yet, but as far as I can tell it shoots pretty flat. All the shooting advice aside if you point the gun with the bead sitting down on the rib it should shoot flat.
You also mention that a higher rib may lower the POI. A higher rib will not lower the POI unless the front of the rib is raised more than the rear. What a higher rib will do is make the gun fit you better so that when shouldered it will have you looking down the rib with the top of the rib out of site and only the two beads in view. I'm fairly tall and need a longer LOP. I'm in the process of adding an adjustable butt plate to mine witch will drop the pad about 3/4" and extend the LOP about 3/4" so that when I shoulder it I will be naturally pointing it flat.
Once you have the gun fitting you properly you can concern yourself about the shooting techniques mentioned above. until then they are irrelevant.
