A 16.1" mid length would be a soft shooter and the pencil profile is very light.

Just got or all put together. It's now got some magpul buis mounted and a trijicon in the plan just not sure what one she wants

Seconded on the rifle length gas ports, I’d have a rifle length gas system on an 18.6” barrel. I’m planning on a build with an adjustable gas block, having a mid-length port will make adjustments difficult.

This is an old thread for the old style pencil barrels.

The new pencil barrels in production will be made using Canadian blanks from IBI. These are honed, hand-lapped with 5R rifling.

We will have these available in about 3 weeks. You can place them on backorder now to reserve one if you like.

Yes we are looking at doing some 20" barrels in October.

We are only running rifle length gas systems on 18.6" and longer barrels. We will not product mid-length gas systems on any long barrels going forward.
