Very nice. I also have a "thing" for 1911 although my collection is a lot more modest than yours. I really like the Warrior its on my list of immediate purchases. :)

Amazing collection!!

What is it about the Warrior that makes it so appealing? I was checking out the Kimber line and they've got a few nice ones.

I was eyeing the Stainless Gold Match... why is the Warrior such a hot pick?

That's a large collection....a small one would have eight commanders:)

Nice collection! Makes me feel better about the more then one dilemma.

Which one's your favorite shooter?

That's a very nice start to a 1911 collection. The "must gets" at this point are: WWII USGI Remington-Rand, WWII USGI Union Switch & Signal, a 'real deal' WWI US military Colt 1911, a pre Series 70 Colt Govt, Series 70 Colt Govt, Series 70 Colt Gold Cup, Series 80 Colt Gold Cup, and a Colt Combat Commander. Those you reasonably 'might' encounter in the Canadian market.

Glad you guys like the pics. I love showing them off and looking at them myself. I hate the fact that they are in the safe more then they are not. There seems to be an endless supply of really desirable great 1911's out there that I would love to own. I really like the Kimber Desert Warrior because for one, it's a Kimber and for those of you who have never owned a Kimber they shoot really tight and the finish on their guns are beautiful. I think the colour is cool. Love the look of Novak sights on a 1911 too. The black hardware...just wait until you see one up close and you'll understand.

I think my favorite shooter out of the bunch is the Dan Wesson Pointman 7. That is the tightest fitting 1911 I own. I'm still working it in actually. Reliable Gun in Vancouver where I bought it still has one left as apparently they are rare in Canada. Another one of those "you have to see it up close" to appreciate it.

As for the 500, well let's just say that is where it all started. That thing is bad ass. It kicks straight back harder then you'd wish for and keeps saying "please sir, again". Rounds are a small fortune and it's not something you want/can shoot a lot of. I must admit, I absolutely love it. I can't imagine shooting the 4 inch version (not available in Canada for obvious reasons). The 50 cal will take down anything that walks the earth.

Did I mention that I have a Colt Commander enroute...

Kind of side tracking the thread, but what do you use that for ???
Rogue Dumptrucks?

Anything he wants to I would guess... and if your run out of cartridges, it looks as if it would make a good club!

dannyair, Do you have another photo of the .50 and .44 from a non perspective view? i.e. straight down from above?
