I think the intended purpose of these guns is to allow for a smaller holster profile for Mil/LEO's. There are other guns that are geared towards concealed carry, so it's not really a fair comparison, as these aren't intended for that.

Had an interesting conversation with someone in the know this weekend. Apparently these are slated to replace the outdated S&W's for the RCMP.

Agreed. I, like the youtube presenter above, think that a 17X would be the next logical step. Glock 19 frame, 17 slide. More concealable for the Americans, no 'dorky' barrel sticking out for us Canadians. *Note, I don't mind the CDN barrell sticking out on the 19X/19 CDN
A lot of youtubers like the way it handles. Especially recoil wise.
Is the magazine disconnect feature important to the RCMP? The 5946 has one, and I think the M&P has it as an optional factory variant, while Glocks don't have them.
I was. And I would also love to get a 19x. Enjoy yours! If you're referring to the 19X, you're right on the money. I don't know what it is about it but they shoot like a house on fire.

I think that Glock can supply a mag disconnect if the order is large enough. I am pretty sure they offered it to my Department as an option, which we declined. We did take sequential serial number with the Department initials included in the serial numbering.
I have attended 4 Glock Armorers course this year and no magazine disconnector has ever been mentioned, my first Armorers class was in 1995 and I have never heard that in any class I have attended.

I've shot one but haven't pulled the trigger. I am thinking about it long and hard though. The problem is I just like my 226's so damn much.
