Glock G45(Black 19X)

I think the intended purpose of these guns is to allow for a smaller holster profile for Mil/LEO's. There are other guns that are geared towards concealed carry, so it's not really a fair comparison, as these aren't intended for that.

Had an interesting conversation with someone in the know this weekend. Apparently these are slated to replace the outdated S&W's for the RCMP.

I’ll believe it when I see it. I’ve been hearing of a replacement for the 5946 for years now. Everything from Sig to the Glock 19 both of which some sections do use. Rumor is the RCMP bought all the remaining parts for the 5946 to keep it going for as long as possible.

I do like my 19x though and would consider buying one of these as well.

Is the magazine disconnect feature important to the RCMP? The 5946 has one, and I think the M&P has it as an optional factory variant, while Glocks don't have them.

Lone wolf distributors make a part so you can run a G17 slide on a G19 frame .

Agreed. I, like the youtube presenter above, think that a 17X would be the next logical step. Glock 19 frame, 17 slide. More concealable for the Americans, no 'dorky' barrel sticking out for us Canadians. *Note, I don't mind the CDN barrell sticking out on the 19X/19 CDN

I think that Glock can supply a mag disconnect if the order is large enough. I am pretty sure they offered it to my Department as an option, which we declined. We did take sequential serial number with the Department initials included in the serial numbering.

I have attended 4 Glock Armorers course this year and no magazine disconnector has ever been mentioned, my first Armorers class was in 1995 and I have never heard that in any class I have attended.

I might be mistaken as this was back in 1994 and we were bombarded with offers from all the vendors offering everything under the sun. Some of them definitely offered the mag disconnect, but perhaps not Glock.
