590a1 51689

The last batch of 14" Mossberg's were 590, not 590A1.

The one I bought in 2014 was a factory 590A1 w/14" barrel. Don't know if that was the "last batch" or not.

Here's the one the OP wants, it's new for 2018:

The last ones that cam to canada arw fake parts guns.
Thy are the left over 590 barrle it's that were in canada already
Ans assembled on mossy 590 frames.
It's easy to tell as the boxs have been relabled.

Sorry, this model is not available in Canada

You could get a dealer to order 59014

Which is a 590 12ga with 14'' barrel
Synthetic stock and fore-end with strap

I know some made it in with GRS. Mine is a 590A1 14" w/tritium GRS and speedfeed stock. They came out around the same time as the bead models but only a few dealers had them.

US export approval is odd with factory 14 inch shotguns - in the US these shotguns are NFA controlled, and it can be tough to get export permission.

I'm still not following this moratorium that's apparently in place. I've been actively looking for a (couple ;-) 14'' 590 A1 w/ the 3 dot sights - ever since they started making them. Even just the bbls would be perfect, seeing as I have two 14'' 590 A1's and could just swap them out. I was told that they are not allowing imports of shotguns under 18'' as well as bbls under 18'' - by numerous dealers.

If there is indeed a moratorium in place why are there new batches of 14'' little beavers being sold with the detachable magazines? Can anyone ''in the know'' explain what the deal with all this (mis?) information floating around regarding what's allowed and what isn't.

As to the 590 the poster was looking for, there were quite a few of them in those batches that came in a few years back. I'd bet there are lots of them floating around. Just not many making it to the EE.

The problem with the USA is that 14 inch barreled shotguns are *destructive devices *that had alternative paperwork.... That's why we don't see em of late....I too am confused why *mag shotguns are here but not the pumps.

The problem is this is 375 worth of junk that should be on the gun itself for 5 - 6 bills...

The factory 14" versions are hard to find, and this way you can swap it out and have both a 14" and an 18.5/20" version in one. That's exactly what I do with mine- swap back and forth depending on what I want to do/my mood for the range day.

We had the same issues a few years ago with AR parts and the State Department, that ended up getting fixed in our favour, unfortunately shotguns in the US are under the control of 2 government departments, not just one, so State can say go ahead, but Commerce can still say no.

Yeah it's not ideal. BUT, $775-$975 to be able to swap back and forth between a short barrel shotgun and "normal" is not the worst thing.

Finally I just purchased a brand new 590a1 20 inch and I bought the 14 inch kit for swapping the barrel I got a good deal on the ammo source! With the 14 inch kit what is my action bar lenght ????

I think the action bars are the same length but the forend is shorter on the 14", 6 1/2" vs 7 5/8" action tube. If you are looking to fit an aftermarket forend you will need to make sure it is either build for the smaller forend or modify it to fit. I modified a Magpul forend to fit mine. If you are interested in doing the same you can find a link to a tutorial in Post #3 here: https://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php/1192123-590a1-sga-modification-article?highlight=mossberg+magpul
