Do you not get the excise tax backed out?
US manufacturers get charged 11% FAET that is refundable after export from the US.

The sale was canceled and it was put back into inventory, that is why there was a restocking charge.

Something is not adding up here. If it was in stock why was it not shipped to the customer? In like 99% of customers posting on cgn about dealers it is because the customer is wrong and simply impossible to please. In this case it would appear Irunguns is at fault and the restocking fee should be refunded.

What is the timeline, when was the order placed and when was the cancellation requested? I think the truth of the matter will be in those details.

Thats unfortunate. But as it is explained its not really IRG fault.
Maybe OP should have took deep breath and wait for the receiver... (but i can relate i lost my cool a couple of time because every frigging preorder have huge delays nowadays)

I have done a couple orders with IRG and they worked out ok in the end.
You need to keep in mind that indicated shipping timelines with them are just approximate guidelines only and in no way a guarantee of any kind.
At the end of the day its up to the US Government when they allow the shipment to cross the border.
If your the impatient type then you should purchase elsewhere.

Why dont you start a claim with your cc company first and see how that goes?
They bwill be the ones to say yay or nay.
That is the real learning event.

As someone who works at a bank. This is the dumbest advice I've seen. Your issue is with the merchant, stop trying to beat around the bush SMH

I've had no issues dealing with IRG however patience is a required virtue. If you don't posses it that's on you.

i'll second this..... never had a bad deal with IRG.....In fact they have always seemed to be very helpful when dealing with them on the phone.

I understand that dealings across borders are beyond their control...and can take time.....what pre-order out of the states has EVER been on time....from any vendor?

I will continue to support IRG's without issue :)

I've also never had a bad experience with them. I've only had to wait the month that it takes for the item to arrive, but I've also only ordered inventory that they had in stock on their websites.

Restocking fees are BS, and there is no logical defence to them whether they're in writing or not. You claim that there is an expense related to returns, but that expense isn't dependant on the value of an item. So returning a Mag for a $2.50 fee and a NR receiver set for a $100 fee just doesn't line up. If there is a cost related to returns, then make it a set fee regardless of value. You won't do this, because you can't come up with a justifiable number. In the case of a special order item, you may have a case. But we are talking about an item that you have 100's of people waiting for. You aren't losing a dime buy shipping it to someone else instead.

Businesses use this as a penalty to force customers to keep the items they buy whether they like them or not, or to cover for poor customer service.

Here's a question for you to answer... When I demanded a refund under the same circumstances, I got it all back within' minutes. Why didn't Shooter 1971?

I would think when exportation from the USA to Canada is involved there would be time and effort wasted which costs businesses money. Maybe you got lucky?

IRG has posted their policy regarding restocking fees all over their websites, I don’t see how this thread is still an argument or even in existence at all.
