In your opinion was this a good choice for the Rangers and did the bureaucratic military procurement process actually work ? I believe the Harper gov was behind this one. Very slick rifle.

Didn't we the taxpayer, go in excess of $4000 a unit for those? So is there a fix for the poor mags or does the end user just have to put up with the problems?

I have a fix for mine. You look online at the Tikka mag issues and these are the same. Nose of the mag drops and the spring is weak/poorly designed. Ideal fix will take time. The rifle itself is a huge upgrade from the 303 and the mag issue should not tarnish the rest of the packages quality. If you like Tikka then you will like this gun. My best qualification shoot ever even with mag issues.

It really should... this gun should feed 100%, pure and simple or recall and start again. Why they didn’t buy Rugers and specificy a metal trigger guard, and a pelican case for $1500 all up probably less in a bulk buy, boggles my mind. Then again the government... and these people choose helicopters and jets too.

Sounds cynical I’m happy for the OP, and that they’re buying new rifles / committing to the rangers. But let’s get rifles that work.
