I have shot deer and bear with my 7mm-08 and nosler partitions with great results. This year however I want to try a different bullet and I thought the Accubond might be a good one to try this year.

Anyone used a accubond on black bear at reasonable hunting distances (under 250yards)???

Any other bullet suggestions??

140 TSX, 140 Accubond, 140 Partition, 139 Interbond, 145 gr Grand Slam. All should yield dead critters and give good performance. My pick would be a tsx or accubond.

My son shot his first bear back in June with a 7-08, The Accubond I had loaded over 47 grn of Varget and CCI primers. Started out as a 140 grn and only lost 14 grn. I wondered if that might be the weight of the polymer tip??

Bear was shot at about 35 yds, It tastes yummy!!

I've used accubonds to take moose and deer. The moose have all been relativly close range (Within 150 yards) But last fall I took a decent mule deer with a 140 gr accubond out of my 7-08 at 275 yards without a hitch. I feel that they are great bang for the buck. the only other bullet that I use for hunting is like everyone else is saying... tsx

So, 200 accubonds and 200 virgin winchester brass are on their way from Russell's as we speak. All I have on hand for powder that is appropriate is h4350 and Varget.

Any Ideas?

I'm thinking of working from 46-48.5 with h4350
and from
40-42.5g of Varget

all over CCI's

Which would you try first Varget or h4350??

personally I would go with Varget if I could only try one

Just wishful thinking on my part. There's always the chance you can find an absolute tack driving load on the first trio down range.......:D

Would be nice to have 197 accubonds loaded and dedicated to killing game instead of pounding them into the backstop searching for a winner..:dancingbanana:

find a good load with the 140 accubond then try to build a similar velocity load with the 139 grain hornady btsp or sierra 140 btsp, for off season shooting
