Got a new rem 870 for grouse this fall
I'm looking at the 650 Kawi. They come with both the independant susp and straight axle. My older Kawi has a straight axle and works/rides so well, I don't think I would spend the extra $$ on the I.S. Another thing I like about the Kawi are the brakes. Mine is a 2000 and the brakes work just as well now as when new. I have had VERY good luck with the older Kawi. Was all geared in on the Honda Rubikon 500 but have recently been enamored with the Suzuki King Quad 450 with the elec. fuel injection (vs. Honda's carb) and the independent read suspension (vs. the solid axle). Only Honda I can find with the ind. susp. is the Rincon 680 and the only ones with the EFI are the Rincon again and a Rancher 420 (no ind. susp. though on this one). Considering the KQ 450 is roughly going to be about $2500 cheaper than the Rincon (at least) I'm definately leaning towards the Suzuki. Tranny isn't as good as the Honda but it makes up for it in all the other areas from what I can see.
You can always get a real grouse gun (20ga SxS) next year, and the 870 will serve you well chasing waterfowl.Got a new rem 870 for grouse this fall![]()
Like to master the use of game calls. Also, needs a new hunting partner with a social life that will not interfere with the hunting season, as well as know how to hit with his rifle, and actually does some target shooting before the hunting season![]()

Right on Snowhunter a good hunting partner and I mean a hunter, is harder to find than a trophy animal.Like to master the use of game calls. Well if it ain't obvious already by now, my new gear includes the Win 70 XTR in .375 H&H, a new pair of boots, the recoil system built into the synthetic stock of my .338WM, the Marlin 336XLR. What else?....oh I need a new set of binocs, lost mine on a trail ride with Dave.
