Hi, just wondering if anyone here that predator calls [coyotes] wears a ghillie suit for conceilment? Would a coyote be able to see a person as easily with one of these? If you do hunt with one, what color and style do you prefer?

i think that a ghillie suit would be benificial while hunting coyotes in open terrain on the praries. Not much for nature cover in places sometimes.

I don't know about Sask, but here in BC if noticed you would prob' get shot by a poacher thinking they finally found a Sasquatch. :D

The one I use has no burlap or jute, so it is very lightweight and user friendly.

One of my clients had a magpie land on his boot while sitting, calling coyotes.

Yeah, for sure. The boys are smiling, and what could be better eh!. I think they're laughing at one another though...:D

I used to think that camo was a good idea until I heard a tourist hunter talking about his unsuccessful hunting trip.

He got off two sight shots.
And four sound shots!

Blaze orange head to toe for me.

I dont go as far as blaze for predator hutning but i know what you mean.

Ever had a guy start belly crawling from the road towards your goose decoys. I dont know how many he thought he was gonna get with that cooey .22lr. I'm glad we seen him coming and waved him off because I'm sure he would have been a mess after soaking upa volley of hevi-shot bb's.

Many years ago, in a land far far away, I was hunting with two friends. as we were heading for our goose spot, we saw a big bunch of dekes in a field.

I could not convince the two idiots I was with that they were not real. So while I waited in the truck, they belly crawled several hundred yards though a shallow ditch. jumped up and emptied their auto loaders at the dekes.
The farmer who had the set was in his house a 1/2 mile away, not very happy. He beat my friends back to the truck and proceeded to give them hell for 15 minutes. We ended up all laughing at how stupid these guys were, and the farmer, invited us back to shoot some real geese.:D

Since the best coyote pelts are obtained in the dead of winter, say late january and february, I have found that a pair of plain of cheapo white coveralls work best for me. The gun and scope are wrapped in white hockey tape.

If you look behind me you will see a big creek and valley. I was well positioned for my Elk. I took down the facemask for this pic.

How does this relate coyotes?

While I was here, two cootes trotted down the foot path that cameraman is standing on, and did not know where I was. I heard them coming but did not know what they were. They got close enough to smell, stare at me, fidgit, and the bolt. Within 30 ft of me.

I then had an idea. Hooked up remote caller in the creek and stayed up where I was. Bang bang bang. They would never look up, and maybe run 10 ft with each shot that was missed and then look around again.
Not one got out of the creek hat I shot at. Some took 3 shots, but still.
What a setup I had,

this is why I am at such a loss here in Sask. open prairie is very different

ghille dorks!!!

I too thought these were silly... and the I got tuned in.. A friend got his on and we gave him a head start to hide in a patch of bush. We walked by him and did not realize that he was there... He took a few branches to help beak his outline as well

Learned a good lesson

Meanwhile almost every deer encounter I have had I have been standing in broad daylight in non camouflaged clothing, and had them walk up to me within 15' feet or less...then again these are crazy BC Deer probably half stoned from nibbling on grow ops in the woods. :D

they do help like clum said but i think encountering most animals is just luck from my experience my dad smokes like a chimney and always bags trophys
