What firearms would you have bought if you had been alive one hundred years ago, assuming you where the same age as you are now! I would have bought a Winchester 94 in 30-30 and a Mauser C96
100 years ago there were all sorts of great bolt actions and machine guns, Lots of cool guns to choose from. Many of us own firearms that are 100 years old.
Given a budget that would accommodate it, which my family's socio-economic status at the time probably wouldn't have permitted, it would be a Mannlicher–Schönauer carbine in 6.5x54.
Realistically speaking, I probably could have afforded a hardware store single shot 12 gauge shotgun, which my great great uncle did buy which I own now.
pretty much the same ones I have now... couple of Rem RB, couple each of marlin 1895's & 1893's, arm load of Winchester lever guns of various models & calibers, couple or 3 1897 Winchester shotguns, 1903 Browning Auto 5, one or two high-walls...
Ooh. Remington Model 8s in fancy grades and different configurations. Long barreled Mauser and Luger pistols. 1902 Smokeless Rolling Block rifles. As many machine guns and artillery that I can stack. Tanks, Aircraft, basically anything I can get my hands on.
