I just wanted to share some pictures and some targets, anyone else own one? Excellent rifle for training in precision shooting with out the price tag, Practice makes perfect!! All groups are 5 shot groups, shot from a bench with sandbags. The little rimfire shoots 1 MOA consistently at 100 yards, and Im not the best shot in the world.

Thanks, always wondered how they were in the real world, I like the adjustability and utility of the stock. I like to target shoot at my local 50 yard indoor range.

I started a thread about these guns a while back, looking for first-hand accounts of accuracy mostly. I did finally get a chance to handle one at my LGS, and what I held that day didn't seem to jive with the asking price. Granted, the older I get...I tend to be saying that more and more. lol I do tend to compare most rimfires I'm considering buying to CZ452s if I'm being honest. If a new rifle is in 452 territory $-wise, the expectations are relatively high, at least as high as my 452 expectations.

Good to see a range report here on these, I do like them...and can see myself owning one down the road. I'd love to see more targets, 50 yards, various ammo types. Particularly interested in seeing how it shoots something like CCI SV.

Rimfire Central would probably be a good place to check if you were looking for more info on a particular rifle or pistol.

Nice rifle and shooting.

Yeah, it would be impossible to guess how many hundreds of times I've been over on that forum poking around. Still, I like Canadian content...and Canadian perspective. We tend to overpay for new guns here in Canada, so I like hearing whether or not Canadian owners think a gun is worth it. Value for $, etc.

There was a lot of anticipation when the word came out of these rifles. I too was excited about buying one but I'm with .22LRGUY on value for the $$. There's been a lot of mixed reviews and so I'm still on the fence about picking one up.

I have yet to handle one but I'm starting to feel I'll be disappointed with all the "plastic". At least Gunknob's RPR seems to shoot real good!......

The unfortunate thing about accuracy is that it is seldom used in the same sentence with inexpensive or cheap.

The problem is the chassis isn't just a rimfire version of the centerfire one. If it was I would own one. Instead they cheeped out on the chassis.

Agreed, though I think things like that I could work around. I could even be content with a plastic-y, knock-around bolt-action 22 that looks AR-ish...and has less than stellar accuracy~if I'm being totally honest. It comes down to price for me. I try to buy the best I can afford, even if I have to save for some time to make it happen. I'd like to own one of these rifles, I just think Ruger is out to lunch on what they charge for them. Step-up the build quality or reduce the price to reflect what you're getting=Ruger has my attention.

Don't mean to derail the thread, hope I'm not. The OP's rifle is shooting great, and I do feel some envy. :)

It's essentially the exact same price as a T1X. I'm going to point out a few things that the Ruger has and the Tikka doesn't.
- multiple 10 round magazines with steel feed lips
- replaceable pistol grip
- adjustable LoP
- adjustable comb height
- 20MOA pic rail for optics mounting
- two lengths of bolt throw
- Mlok fore-end for freedom to mount anything anywhere up front

I didnt keep the targets, but this gun loves cci standard, eley sport, remington subsonics so far. Best groups Ive had is with Eley sport and remington subsonics at 50 yards. I like shooting eley at 100 yards, hoping to get out the range soon, I still need to test some bulk ammo

I agree with you completely, the tikka and the RPR are 2 totally different style of gun. I plan on customizing mine a bunch more over the next year

^I agree that's all true, but having held both/shot neither....and...having a sense of the track record of both companies...I'd trust the Tikka to be a more accurate gun than the Ruger. It also doesn't matter to me that the "chasis" is plastic, it's like the trigger guard on a Remington 870 Express~people crap on that move by Remington, yet I've never heard of one failing. The Ruger is only a 22, if the plastic chasis is a problem, the only issue (to me) is how much MORE front-heavy it makes the gun feel. If/when I hear that they're breaking/failing...I'll revisit my opinion on them.

Heck, if Ruger made the chassis like they do the centerfire versions...we'd have another $1,000 22 rifle...and the accuracy expectations (unaffected by the choice to use metal) would be significantly greater.

A young man brought his to our 100 Meter rimfire shoot a few months ago.
505/600 was his score which was good for 5th in sporting rifle.
97 2x 89 0x 91 1x 277 3x 70 1x 89 1x 69 0x 228 2x 505 5x 5th
I do not recall what ammo he was using.
It was recommended that he test more ammo but he has not been back.
