I have a S&W M&P 9 first gen. I'm interested in trying IDPA at my local club.

I want to get a Classic OWB holster from Blade-tech as well as a two mag pouch.

First - is this a good holster for IDPA?

Second - I live in London ON. Where is a good place to buy the holster and mag pouch from?

The first generation M&Ps had a Range Kit which included the Bladetech holster and mag carriers. They are legal for both IDPA and IPSC.
I’m sure many first gen owners have upgraded their kit holsters and may have them lying around. I would put up a WTB ad here first and see if you can score one that way. They are a good basic holster especially for a beginner looking to try action sports.

The Bladetech holsters are just fine for IDPA.
Not sure who has what you need in stock, but you can also order from Amazon or directly from Bladetech.

DO NOT order directly from Blade-Tech.
On a $35 holster they want $26 in shipping plus exchange of course.
Check Bulls Eye right there in London. There are none listed online but worth a try.

Not the question the OP asked, but my .02 is that I prefer Comp Tac. I'll state upfront that I've never shot IDPA with it, but I used it overseas for 8 months and loved it. Far prefer comp tac to blade tech. Probably couldn't go wrong buying one of each and deciding for yourself. I'm also probably biased because comp tac knocked out a custom holster on short notice for me right before deployment. That was cool of them. Anyway just another option to complicate your decision.

Where can you purchase Comp Tac in Canada?

I just ordered two from Select Shooting Sports. Total shipping costs were $11.00 and were sent the day after they got my order.
