SKS Red Dot problem

I've come across an issue on an SKS. If the Red Dot Bushnell TRS-25 is too far forward, then you can't remove the gas tube anymore. The little gas tube lever interferes with the bottom of the red dot. Put it one spot back on the rail for clearance and then you can remove the gas tube no problem, but now you can't feed with stipper clips anymore. The bullets hit the red dot as you feed them in. Has anyone come across this problem and found a solution?

No I never encountered that with the bc tactical scout mount, we’ll not the inability to use stripper clips. Once the bolt it locked back there’s tons of room between the stripper clip guide and the red dot for the rounds to clear. I can’t see how this happens to be honest.

I have exactly the same problem with my Razor Matador Scout mount (pic). In order to use a stripper clip I load only 5 cartridges. Then I pull the bolt to the very end and hold it with one hand against the recoil spring (it requires some strength of your arm), load the stripper clip and allow the bolt to come forward with the sticking up stripper clip to a stop on the magazine. Then push the 5 cartridges as usual to load them and release the bolt to slam the receiver as it's normally done. It is a bit more cumbersome loading from a stripper clip and not tactical at all. But I don't see any other way. I think this is a common problem with short scout mounts having Weaver rail attached to a front sight on an SKS. The TRS-25 is protruding a bit too much if mounted the way that you can remove the gas tube. There is no problem with some mini reflex dot sights which are shorter then the TRS-25.

Tried both the BC tactical one and Scout mount they’re ok but not perfect.

I’m sold with the newer see-thru Matador Arms Razor.

That's exactly what I have on my SKS in post#4. The problem is that the Matador Razor mount is very short (max. 50 mm) and it requires a very short optic, ideally a reflex dot sight like yours. However, mounting a Vortex Venom 3MOA that costs about $300 on a $200 SKS is beyond me. I'm cheap. The Bushnell TRS-25 is only about $100 and working very well but unfortunately, one cannot load an SKS quickly (tactically) with stripper clips. So far, I'll stay with the TRS-25.
 
NC Star has a mount that is attached to a gas tube which puts your red dot out front of the site. The top hand guard is not used. I will probably remove the RD and put a regular pistol scope on it before to long. Action is fullly clear for stripper clip use. Has worked well for the last three years.

I hear you, I only went with the Vortex because it can take a pounding vs the $100 reflex that will likely crap out eventually.
