TYPE 81 users, folder or wood stock?

Yah I too chose the folder purely off a novelty basis.... Now I kindof wish I bought a fixed stock version instead tho. Cus I most certainly wouldve made a AK buttstock for it that better fits my face. The factory fixed stocks look uncomfortable as hell lol

Really like my folder

The fixed can be a bit tough to get a good sight picture if you have a square jaw or wide cheeks.
Converted mine to a ar buffer tube and magpul stock and i really like it.
Way easier to use .
Folder next

now I have both and it's the way. both have their interesting features
start with wood butt as it is classier

As much as the rest of the gun feels like cheap garbage, the folding stock is a rock solid bit.

Feels like every stamped sheet metal Com Bloc gun I've ever handled. Russian, Yugo, Bulgarian and Chinese AK47's included.
It's far from garbage.
You could throw that thing down a fackin' flight of stairs, stick a mag in, rack it and fire it all day.

The T81 is a 300$ rifle we all overpaid for because we thought we would get something close to an AK. Im guilty of it myself. I had high hopes for it but it turned out it was just another rifle that collects dust in the back of my safe.

I wouldnt say its cheap, but it does have horrible fit an fishins and thats what makes it more interesting and a nice example to add to the X39 collection.

Also it makes a great conversation piece when showing friends that have no clue about firearms. :)

But with all the cool NR Ars out there right meow, I dont even play with my X39s anymore...lol...

That sounds about what I'd expect from an AK, certainly the Type 56 in any event.

Ive only handled and shot a few AKs, But when your dumping clips the last thing on your mind is how the fit and fishin looks :) and the ones in Gagetown I handled at the museum were pretty beat up :) and rusty... The top one was a Tula
