IPSC PCC division in Ontario

Thanks. Assuming you'll have 10 conpetitors to have PCC division qualify.

As sean said, there are 4 or 5 L3 matches before yours. Chances are some will run PCC...

I'll start handing out PCCs if I have to! lol I hope that each of those level 3 matches are able to offer PCC, the more the better!

Depends on what the Match Director wants to do.
Since PCC is technically a different discipline, it's an option open to him / her.

IMO it's not like a steel challenge match that anyone can practice any time so shooting two different divisions isn't a big deal.

We currently don't allow the stages to be shot twice by allowing a shooter to register in two different divisions, so why allow it for two different disciplines? I believe it's allowing the shooter to gain an unfair advantage through practice.

My point exactly. You're the match director and that is your call. I believe this will be the majority of other MD's opinions and honestly, most matches in Canada don't have room for people to shoot it twice anyway. Most are full very quickly.

Or I guess I can register again for the same match using my chinese name.
I wear a different hat or change my glasses... the MD will never know the diff.
All I will probably get is the RO asking me the same dumb question..."do Youuuuu under..STANDDD...da
course..of fi...re???"

Handgun vs PCC, you can't lean around a wall the same, or shoot through a low port the same, engaging targets at distance is different, on the move etc... you aren't gaining much if anything.

If its gaming a stage and practising footwork and positioning you are worried about, if someone can't do that in their initial walkthrough they aren't winning anyways.

Also, how often does a reshoot work out in the competitors favour?

As already stated, I think it will come down to space in the match.
Personally I can't see any other reason to not allow it if I was the MD.

Sean, that's interesting. You saying it is enough ground to disallow someone to compete in a match, because they had shot some other sanctioned match? I don't think that's covered in the rule book

There is also this:

3.3.1 IPSC matches are governed by the rules applicable to the discipline. Host organizations may not enforce local rules except to comply with legislation or legal precedent in the applicable jurisdiction. Any voluntarily adopted rules that are not in compliance with these rules must not be applied to IPSC matches without the express consent of the Regional Director and the IPSC Executive Council.

Is there a rule in IPSC that states you can't shoot a match in two different disciplines?

Sean, there also no rule declaring match structure with multiple disciplines.

PS: it all can be avoided if IPSC Canada invluded PCC as a handgun division fot all regional matchee

Sean, and there is also 40 cal mags loaded with 9mm... Current IPSC excemption only cover handgun divisions, but not PCC.

That has been brought to his attention a while ago and I suspect that the exemption letter for 10 rounds will have it's wording changed to reflect PCC as well using the same rational.
